Klinglwirt — Restaurant in Munich

Went spontaneously for dinner, the traditional German/Bavarian food was fantastic and also had a great selection for vegetarians. It’s good quality ingredients and mainly organic. It was busy however we got a table for 2 straight away but were told it would be a long wait for food. The beer selection was also great. The problem was the service which was dire. I’ll start by saying the lady at the bar was very friendly, we were sat right next to the bar and ended up asking her for drinks directly and she was lovely. There were just 2 other people working, a gentleman who we didn’t have any interaction with and then a lady who was serving us. The lady serving us was so rude, she gave us the impression from the minute we entered that she didn’t want us there and couldn’t be bothered with us, wouldn’t acknowledge us, scowled at us, we almost left because of her attitude. We only stayed because the food coming out looked great. At the end of the meal when we asked for the bill she suddenly flipped to being lovely, it was such a blatant attempt to get a tip which we didn’t leave due to her absolute rudeness. This is the second time we have had dinner here at this restaurant. The first time was New Year’s Eve in 2018. It was so enjoyable that we wanted to come back and try it again The restaurant is located in a nice part of town and close to the Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn subway station. It’s a small restaurant with perhaps 20 or so tables. We made reservations online although when we arrived it wasn’t needed. Always helps though to have them. We were promptly seated at a corner table. There are benches and chairs. Salt and pepper grinders are on the table. A small light (fake candle) sits on the table. We were provided menus and out drink orders taken quickly. There are portion sizes for some of the meals. Small, medium , and large. Others are as is. The sizes were larger than expected but quite enjoyable. I was looking forward to having desert but I was too full from the main course. We had a wonderful time and look forward...

Ordered turkey in a pepper cream sauce with noodles (small portion). I was informed about half an hour after ordering that they were out of noodles. No good substitutes. Chose Bratkartoffeln (fried potatoes). Ask the waitress to keep the Bratkartoffeln separate from the pepper cream sauce because I thought it would clash.

When the food finally arrived about one hour after ordering, everything was swimming on the same plate. This is not a discount restaurant but quite pricey, and I expected better and more friendly service.

The pepper cream sauce comprised 90% of the entrée and there was almost no turkey. Very disappointed.

I was then overcharged for a large portion after ordering small. The waitress was not pleasant or apologetic in the least.
