Muinch has around 15-20 Indian restaurants and I have tried almost all of them. Bombay Tandoori is among the Top 3 to me.
Location : Located near Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn metro station (2 minutes walk on the east). So, it is easily accessible by anyone anywhere is the city as all the S-bahn routes go through this station.
Restaurant : Designed like any other stereo typed Indian restaurant with lot of red and "Sarees". Ambiance is average, nothing different. Both outdoor and indoor dining options are available.
Service : (Total 5 star) Un-comparable for service. The guys out there speak in English, German, Hindi, Punjabi, etc.. The food can be customized as per your tongue's "spicey-ness" quotient. This feature makes it good for Locals as well as for Indian travelers looking for spicy food.
Food : Food is amazingly tasty. They have options for Thali too for solo travelers. Good options for non-vegetarian and vegetarian guests too. I ended up having more than 15 dinners there for my 31 days visit.Dal Makhni (Black lentil curry), Paneer Pakora (Snack made of Cottage cheese and lentil dough) were my favorite.
Payment : They accept all card (thanksfully even American express cards). Only challenge being bill below EUR 15 should be paid in cash, but that is the standard across Munich as I see.
All in all highly...
Read moreWe went to Bombay Tandoori last weekend and i would never ever recommend anyone this place to have Indian food.
First of all, the person who was at reception was not at all professional. He was very rude and was least interested in entertaining the customer at table. Rather he was busy in packing the deliveries for Liferando for like almost 1 hour.
I had ordered soup and main course. I had to ask him multiple times to check for my food.
Then after a long wait he served me the soup and when I checked for the main course. He said that because I have ordered soup, now he will serve my food late.(As if I did some mistake )
Finally we got the butter chicken and lamb curry that we ordered; to my surprise both the curries. had same gravy and it took me a while to find a piece of Lamb and chicken in that.
Worst food it was and I honestly felt why did I waste my money here.
A place - with no customer dealing sense and on the top bad food.
I would say if the propose of this restaurant is to do home deliveries only and ignore the customer at the restaurant then they should mention that so people don't go there for dining.
If you do not want to spoil your mood and waste your money. Please do not go to this place ever. a big NO NO...
Read moreBombay Tandoori was the first Indian restaurant we tried in Munich, and overall, it was a good experience with room for improvement. The food itself is flavorful and satisfying; the onion salad served alongside the main dishes was particularly delicious and left a lasting impression. However, while the taste did not disappoint, the presentation could use an upgrade. The dishes are well-prepared, but lack the artistic touch that elevates a meal beyond just taste. In this case, presentation would go a long way in enhancing the overall dining experience.
The décor of the restaurant feels a bit outdated, which detracts slightly from the ambiance, but this is balanced by its excellent location and attentive service. The staff was friendly and very responsive, adding a personal touch that enhanced the visit. We visited during a quiet time, so it wasn't too busy, making for a relaxed meal.
If you're in the area and craving Indian food, Bombay Tandoori is worth a try, especially for the flavors. With a bit of attention to presentation and a décor refresh, it has the potential to shine...
