Kushi-Tei is definitely an experience. It definitely brings the Japanese vibes in the middle of Munich. While the portions are really small, the flavours on the other hand are huge. You can taste the freshness of the raw food and the perfectly matching seasoning from the hot dishes. The charcoal after taste gives an extra punch to the grilled dishes, which is definitely a bonus point in my opinion. We decided to order the Menu C in order to taste a bit of everything. While the starters did not look great, the seasoning of the salad was pretty good, but the big surprise here was the miso soup. The first entree, which consists in 3 slices of sashimi (salmon) were fresh and tasty. The second entree was some sort of fried chicken, which was crispy and not soggy. Amazing flavour by the way. Then main dish has 3 different types of meat, bit of greens and rice. The flavour here was out of this world. We thought we would be starving afterwards given the portion sizes, but at the end we were really satisfied and happy with the menu. The only negative point is the price. It is, even for Munich, really expensive given the amount of food you are ordering. But I guess quality comes with a price. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars. But definitely coming back again!

We were really amazed by the grilled pork belly. It's crispy outside with a charcoal scent and the meat is very moist. The pork fat is not greasy at all. It's just excellently grilled. We will for sure come back for this dish. Their fried chicken (karaage) is also very delicious with a crunchy crust and juicy chicken thighs inside. Other raw fish dishes were also very good. But their bbq dishes are something you cannot miss. The staff are polite and friendly and the restaurant is cozy but the seats are a bit small. Overall this is a great place for Japanese izakaya and charcoal grilled skewer lovers.

I don't know about how's their dinner, but i have been there 5th times for lunch, yesterday i was really disappointed.

I ordered Tonkatsu (etwas wie Schnitzel.) yesterday. The meat was UNBELIEVABLE dry and hard. We told the waitress nicely and she "rolled her eyes at me" and said "It's normal." with BAD attitude and without checking my meal. I've been to Japan several times, my grandma even lives there as residence for over 50 years. How wouldn't i know if it's normal or not ? ! I told them this situation was cause i thought they could make it better in the future, their cooks are even local Japaneses. I didn't understand why should i be treated by that kind of attitude.

Next, 30 minutes after my meal came, our other torikara don still had not come yet. Then we asked the other waitress about it(cause we didn't want to talk to the one who rolled her eyes at me). She just said "noch nicht?"(haven't come?) and went away directly. They forgot our meal.( btw there were no other customers.) Till we finished our luch and left the restaurant, we didn't hear any sorry from them cause their forgetfulness.

Though they are really cheap for lunch, maybe service is not included. I think these 2 situation is not endurable. Also, i took pictures for my Tonkatsu, I'll upload them to prove i wasn't...

Food is good but service was disappointing.

Since the portions are small we ordered several small dishes and asked the waiter to bring them slowly in rounds. What she did was, before we could even finish our soups, loading the table with everything ordered (she wanted to serve 8-9 dishes at the same time for 2 people)

We told her that is not acceptable and we dont want to eat everything cold, she was telling her boss wont understand it. After insisting she took the dishes back and brought the same ones later after 15-20 mins(time needed to finish what we had on table). Meaning: we ate half of the dishes cold. Meaning: this was disrespectful to try to fool us to serve the same plates prepared 20 mins ago. Who wants to eat a grilled squid at room temperature?

And of course no apology no effort to fix...
