It was an unpleasant experience towards the restaurant. Just to make it clear that we have tourists happen to visit Munich for the first time. We struggled to find a place to have dinner without booking across the area nearby. Bringing along 2 toddlers 5 years old and below and 1 Infant at the cold evening which 12 degree celcius, finally we were able to find a place for dinner, although we have to wait for an hour starting 7.30pm. The kids are very hungry, and we have no choice but to wait outside, since the manager of the restaurant doesn’t allow us to having dinner outside his restaurant even though there are tables and seats outside. It is fine, we told the waiter that if possible, we try to take away or to go , and won’t be eating outside his restaurant since his manager doesn’t allow it, but we try to tell the waiter if there are seats available, we would to have it inside instead of taking away. In the middle of waiting the order, some customers were leaving and making space available. We asked the waiter politely if it is possible for us to have our dinner inside the restaurant, since the kids were hungry. The restaurant manager insisted say no. This making us feeling disappointed and ashamed, like being chased away despite having 3 kids that are willing to wait outside the restaurant during the cold night. Total of 3 times we asking if possible for us to having the dinner inside, the answer from the restaurant manager still No. Such a disgrace and feeling the service is totally not worth a single star at all. There is no empathy from the restaurant manager rather than making me feeling he is looking down on his customers and unwilling to treat them equally.
Last but not least, I 100% not recommend this restaurant and will not visit this restaurant again. Best food always best if serve hot and right at the right place, perhaps not for this restaurant.
P/s: After seeing the reply from the restaurant owner, feeling it is so rude, arrogant and racist. 今时今日,这种服务态度是要不得的! Memang degil, angkuh...
Read moreAfter an exhausting day of travel, I checked into the Holiday Inn - City Center Munich. I was wanting an Italian meal and read the high reviews for this restaurant just a 5 minute walk along a beautiful canal and tree covered walking trail. The restaurant is on a quiet side street with outside tables under a canopy cover. There was also a formal dining area if you wanted that experience. The service was excellent throughout the meal with a full understanding of the menu and formal service skills. What can I say... the dinner was as superb as the service! I started with their bruchetta. I've noticed that if a restaurant can superbly create this simple appetizer, it usually means the rest of the dinner will be great as well. The bruchetta was excellent with large fresh bread, roma tomato segments and arugula, sprinkled with virgin 1st pressing Olive oil and drizzled with a sweet balsamic syrup I've never had anywhere else. The syrup gave the bruchetta an extra dimension of flavor that caused me to savor every bite. The main course was penne pasta with pink sauce and vegetables. The penne tasted freshly made and cooked a perfect al dente. The pink sauce (marinara with creme) has been my favorite for years and this dish did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and the vegetables of their choice were fresh and property cooked. The dessert was tiramasu. It was served in a crock vessel and was both surprising in presentation and taste. Again the cooks had a great sense of flavor and the crock presentation showed their skills in baking and was just another touch that made the meal enjoyable. If I ever travel back to Munich, I'll remember to dine...
Read moreFound this restaurant a couple blocks away from the hotel I was staying at after walking through the more residential area south of the train station. First off, the service was fantastic and the menu had English translations for everything, which I really appreciated. Most of the customers seemed like locals.
I shared a pizza and carbonara pasta for the main course then ended the meal with a tiramisu and macchiato. Enjoyed everything! Then they also offered a complimentary limoncello shot before we left which was a nice touch.
Overall, I thought that this was a nice, more quiet and chill spot to enjoy dinner outside (though they have indoor seating also if...
