Fantastic birthday-night at Frau im Mond!

I took my boyfriend to the restaurant for his birthday. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. We had booked an outdoor table without thinking how cold it would be, but the staff still changed our booking that we could sit inside. The ambience was lively, with upbeat music and Christmas lights.

Our waitress, Lara, was amazing—so friendly and cheerful, making us feel right at home. The Hirschgulasch and pumpkin gnocchi we ordered were delicious, and we’re already excited to try their cheese fondue next time!

A special highlight was the birthday-surprise! We got the full experience with stuff and guests singing and dancing happy birthday and a delicious cake topped with fresh berries! Needless to say he was very touched and surprised!

We ended the night on the rooftop terrace with generous drinks (delicious espresso martini) and a beautiful view of the Isar. Wow wow, thank you so much for the great...

Atmosphere and food are very good, yet a tad on the expensive side. I really loved the house background music that gives this rooftop a nice and cozy feel. Book well in advance as the place is constantly booked out and only has limited seating. The highlight of this place is definitely the Passion Fruit Soufflé, I recommend you get one per person and do not share as you won't want to miss it.

The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because service was exceptionally slow when we were there - we waited a total of 2 (!) Hours to get our food and desert in total (it was a Monday night, not a Friday/ Saturday). This is not entirely the waiting staff's fault, the ordering system used seems buggy and slow.

All in all, despite the long waiting times, the Passion Fruit Soufflé alone makes up for...

Seit Juni der neue Stern am Münchner Barhimmel....die "Frau im Mond"-Bar auf dem neu erbauten Teil des Deutschen Museums. Einen schönen Blick über die Isar hat man von hier und sie ist modern eingerichtet.

Die große Terrasse ist super. Mir war drinnen die Musik zu laut und später das Licht draußen zu grell.

Die Reservierung für ein Abendessen gestaltete sich schwierig: über ObenTable waren niiiiie freie Termine zu bekommen. Ans Telefon ging tagelang niemand. Irgendwann hat es dann doch noch geklappt und wir konnten zu zweit bei bestem Wetter hingehen. Unten ist ein Türsteher, der nach der Reservierung fragt, dann gehts mit dem Aufzug weiter.

Wir wurden seeeeehr nett begrüßt von Dirk, der den ganzen Abend gute Laune versprühte, aber trotzdem professionell und sehr gästeorientiert ist. Danke nochmal für die tolle Betreuung. Wegen ihm gibts vier Sterne, sonst wären es nur drei gewesen.

Warum?

Wir haben ein Glas Champagner (10 €/0,1 l) bestellt, gebracht wurde eine gelbliche Flüssigkeit in einem Weinglas. Erst wurde behauptet, das sei Champagner, dann wars plötzlich Geldermann Sekt und letztendlich wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass sie gar keinen offenen Champagner haben. Getrunken wurde er nicht. Das Bier war gut und überraschend preiswert.

Der "Rossini Canella" (Fertigmischung aus der Flasche; 8,50 €/0,2 l) war total verwässert und sein Geld leider nicht wert.

Die Edamame-Bohnen mit Meerrettich (7 €) waren angebrannt. Die "Pasta Garnele" (18 €) war okay, aber kein Highlight. Der Laib Brot (0 €) und Tomatensalat mit Burrata (25 €) waren super!

In den WC fehlt die Deckenverkleidung.

Die Damen im Service sprechen teilweise kein Wort oder wenig Deutsch. Sie waren freundlich, aber ganz schön gestresst und hektisch.

Der DJ hat am 16.8. gute Musik aufgelegt, die Lautstärke war angenehm.

Auf die Rechnung, die mir die Kellnerin zugesagt hatte, warte ich heute noch.
