L'Osteria Munich Bogenhausen — Restaurant in Munich

I have been to L‘Osteria in Richard-Strauss-Str. since the place has been taken over from Vapiano in September 2021 three times. It’s been renovated for the better and very cozy. Most importantly every time the food - pizza as well as pasta - has been wonderful. The pasta is well seasoned and comes in reasonable dish size. The pizza is larger than you will expect with a cross and thin italian style dough. As for the drinks, all three times i asked for the primitivo red wine, which apparently is always out. :/ So less options and some better planning needed. The waiters are friendly and the first order is quick but after that some are not attentive.. as we would have liked some more drinks and desserts but were waiting too long to grab their attention. so we decided to pay.

...UPDATE from 08.07.22: I came back as I live in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately the service was a complete disaster, firstly the outside tables were mostly dirty and there was no one around to be seated with. as we found a table it took ages to order. the food itself was fine but came without any paper set so the pizza was partially directly placed at the table without protection. .. the same situation as we wanted to pay... while the waiter guys were having shots at some table, it took again ages to get the attention in order to leave. even the tip didn't give a thanks.. .so sadly .. I guess I won't come back.. even though I wanted to be the restaurant to be a success but with poor atmosphere and lack of management the best pizza taste isn't worth spending...

I went to L Osteria for lunch today with a friend. It was quite busy with a big company group but not all tables were seated outside. We ordered the drinks, a Caesar salad and a pasta. Firstly, they were mistaken the salad to the other tables. Second, It was definitely the worst Caesar salad I have ever had. There were only one type of salad, crispy bread and few Parmesan on top, as shown in the pictures. No potatoes, no cucumber, nothing! What makes things even more sad, is that the only salad in the plate was not fresh at all. You can see some of them shall be in the trash immediately. But they are served to customers. Last but not least, my friend was not served with his food for 1h. In the end, he had to cancel the order cuz his dish was simply forgotten… The service was so bad there. We could not find the waiter who took our orders. We were not served any bread even other tables have. I don’t think I would ever visit IT again, never ever! So be careful, if you want to have some proper food for the price and not get disappointed or angry, try other places nearby. They are better than...

So sad to share a bad review because the food was actually really good, but the service was terrible both times I visited. The first time, my server never actually entered my order. By the time they realized this, the kitchen was closing and what I had originally ordered was no longer available. They offered the lasagne as an alternative which was actually really good & they did give me a discount which I appreciated. As I said, the food is good, the service not so much. Their bruschetta is fabulous so I went back one last time before I left to have the bruschetta and a glass of wine. It took almost 45 minutes to get it to me & another 20 minutes to get my check, despite me asking repeatedly for my check and being ignored by the server. When he finally addressed my check, he quoted me an amount, then walked away for another 5 minutes. He didn’t really explain why, which is odd & I’ll be sure to make sure there are no discrepancies with my credit card company. Again the food I thought was amazing, the service not so much. It should not have taken over an hour for an appetizer and...
