Had a decent 1st experience, so went in again with family for dinner.
Mentioned to the steward that the Rawa dosa was good last time around and he said, it's always good and will make it so, so we ordered 3. That's where the good experience ended.
No cutlery served till we were already served food. Saw a group of 6 people who spoke to them in local language and the management was falling over themselves to serve them.
Dosas came one-by-one and to our disappointment the 1st was cold and barely cooked. Nothing close to the crispness one expects in a rawa dosa and barely any masala. Sambhar was cold (not warm, Not luke-warm, COLD). The second, too, came with cold sambhar, and mind you we were still waiting for cutlery. Had to tell him that that's really a half-heartedly made dosa - soft, barely any masala, cold sambhar. Instead of checking, he was telling us that it is hot! Had to insist that he could check it himself and try the sambhar. Got the 3rd dosa with micro-waved sambhar. No courtesy, no regret, nothing. While paying, mentioned to them about the quality of food and experience, and even suggested that if there were many orders, he could've asked us to wait but atleast ensure the food was made well, but the manager couldn't care less. Read morePretty average experience. The staff was very accommodating of our large party so I would like to appreciate them for that. The place is also huge but sadly not very accessible. The starters weren’t very great- we had the gobi manchurian and chilli chicken. Both were not very good and overpriced for what we got. The biryani was a highlight, with large portions and good flavour. However there was little chicken compared to the sheer amount of rice. We also ordered some Rogan Josh and Shahi Paneer Baingan. Both of these were very good and I would order this again. The meat was super tender in the Rogan Josh and the paneer was soft and plenty in the shahi paneer (albeit a tad bit too sweet). The accompanying roti and naan were superb, maintaining softness even after it went cold due to the weather and our delayed eating. Dessert was gajar halwa which was sub par. The sweetness was the right amount but the texture felt like coarse baby food. We also had some Lassi which was good.
Overall, it was overpriced for the experience we had and it...
Read moreIf you're into Indian food, especially Hyderabad Dum Biryani, this place is a must-try. The Biryani here is flavorful and reminds me of the authentic taste you'd find in India - a real treat in Munich.
The South Indian starters are also worth mentioning. They're a great way to kick off the meal, with just the right amount of spice and flavor. It's nice to see a menu that goes beyond the usual Indian dishes.
What I really liked about Namaste is its impeccable service and friendly staff. The restaurant is also spacious and relaxing, which is quite a relief compared to some of the more cramped places in the city. It's a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. They seem to really care about your experience, which is always a plus in my book.
All in all, Namaste is a great spot for Indian cuisine in Munich. It's not just about the food; the whole experience is just very welcoming and authentic. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving some good...
