We wanted to try a new tapas restaurant, but it turned out to be such a joke. Why am I saying that...As soon as we got there we were told that we have the table (for three people) for only 1,5h. Although in our online reservation was not stated absolutely anywhere anything about time limitations. Please make sure you fix this in your reservation system! I find it very unfair not to know this in advance! We were planning to have a nice and enjoyable dinner and some drinks and enjoy the evening at this restaurant. We explained that we would like to stay longer. No more information on this topic followed (for a while). We ordered our drinks, the first round of tapas (we mentioned that this is the first round of ordering) and a bottle of wine, the food was decent but for the prices nothing special and small portions compared with other similar restaurants in the city. The service was less than mediocre, it was incredibly slow and inattentive. If you want us to leave in 1,5h, please give us the chance to order and eat at least! Nobody cared about it. How can that be??? Don't you guys want your customers' money??? Then, when a lady cleaned up our table, we told her that we still wanted to order more. Nobody came for another 20 min to take our order. Eventually we stopped one of the guys and told him that we really want to order some more food. He told us that it's too late, because he needs the table, the next customers just arrived. After we asked for his manager, again nobody came for another 10 min. Afterwards our own waiter came instead, and offered us that we can move to the stool tables. We accepted eventually, but he disappeared again for a while, only to come back and let us keep our initial table. Another important thing in my opinion, is that the table next to us was also free and nobody ever came to sit there, so obviously it was not overcrowded or anything. At this point our waiter was trying to be nicer and more attentive to our needs, but honestly, the whole situation (and especially his colleagues' behavior) just ruined it for us. Never returning back there and advising anyone against it. With so many other great places, you will lose lots of business with this...
Read moreI really loved this place! I had it on my list for restaurants to try while in Munich for Oktoberfest. I was actually the last restaurant we tried but it was at the very least tied for first in out restaurant experiences in Munich. You'll have to catch my other reviews to learn who the other restaurant is.
We ordered a bottle of Finca La Montessa Rioja red wine at my friend's suggestion. We combined that with Spicy Potatoes, Gambas Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp), Calamari and Chorizo. Let me tell you right now, if you ever see Gambas on a menu, go for it! I've been to multiple Spanish Tapas places ordering the Gambas each time and I've never been disappointed (Get some bread for dipping with it). The Chorizo was a hit too!
Actually, nothing missed! We had a paella for dinner (seafood). We rounded out dinner with dessert, specifically the "Crema Catalana," their rendition of the Crème Brûlée. Let me tell you, it tasted better than any Crème Brûlée I've ever had.
The service was great though It was a little bit tricky translating English to Spanish and vice versa. That didn't hamper service though. Combine great food and great service with all of these cute, indoor and outdoor nooks and crannies... and you have a recipe for greatness!
If you're headed to Munich for Oktoberfest don't hesitate to cross the bridge north. This place is so worth the visit. You...
Read moreWorst. Service. Ever. Food also not that good.
I reserved a specific table at 8pm for a group (I called them twice in 2 weeks to make sure the request was noted down), but once there that table was busy and we had to wait 30 minutes unless we would have accepted a different table.
We ordered a mix of tapas and some paellas and they forgot the paella of one of the guests, after asking several times the waitress brought the chef there to check and started arguing with him for another 10 minutes right behind us because he had made a mistake, instead of fixing the problem and bringing some food for him.
We had to wait for another 30 min for this paella to arrive and - when we were all finished and asked for dessert (it was 23:04) - the waitress replied that we were too late because the kitchen had closed at 23:00, like it was our fault that we did not know...
They did not offer us anything while waiting for the table, they did not offer any food to the guy who waited for more than one hour because of the missing paella, they did not inform us a few minutes before the kitchen was closing that we should have ordered soon in case we wanted anything else, like all normal restaurants would do. The food was also not that great in comparison to any other Spanish...
