Mary's Coffee Club Maxvorstadt — Restaurant in Munich

This is our second time visiting this restaurant. The first time was during the week days, and it wasn't crowded. The service from the reception was rude; she couldn't combine the tables because we are five people and need three tables. After some attempts and suggestions, she figured out how to arrange the tables.

As for the food and service, during the meal, there was an excellent, cute waiter wearing an earring who was very helpful, kind, and always smiling.

For our second visit, we came on the weekend, two days later, and it was the same situation. Another waiter refused to let us in right away because of the crowd, and we saw people entering in front of us from the waiting line. When we approached her, she said she couldn't accommodate us because there were only two people seated and we were five.

We were supposed to wait until three tables became available next to each other when it was our turn, without any discrimination or strange looks. The food is good and special, but they lack experience in dealing...

We’ve been here on a cold Sunday afternoon at around 1030 am, 3rd in line. The wait was actually quite short - we’ve expected it longer ;)

At first, we ordered cappuccino and it was really marvelous - if it were just for the cappuccino it would be 5 stars, believe me!

However, we didn’t like the food too much. I chose the Halloumi-Bowl and to me, honestly, it seemed like they were just trying to add some fancy ingredients into a bowl. The pink hummus and the avocado dip were quite good themselves. But the halloumi was in tiny thin stripes so it didn’t really taste like something. There were really dry and thin carrot slices - when I asked for more sauce it was better, but for me it didn’t fit to the other sauces. The sweet potato was soft but more like baked instead of grilled. All in all, it just didn’t harmonize in itself. I was disappointed. My friend ordered the avocado toast with salmon. Well, he had like maybe 4 avocados on this toast - so it tasted good but maybe was a bit...

update after 9 months: their lawyer contacted me again about the same review with the same reasoning, what a shame! i’m adding a screenshot from your instagram to prove that i actually have been to your place - you can compare the dish, table and even the flower vase. stop harassing me lol // update: i got an email from their lawyer stating that i had never visited the place and that my review would be deleted unless i provide proof. it’s quite ridiculous, i would recommend improving your service instead of bullying your dissatisfied customers. // the lemonade was very good, the avocado toast was okay at best, but i didn’t feel welcomed by the staff - waited so long to be seated and then served (had to get the menu on my own and then order at the counter), they also got me a different drink than i ordered. i wished for a better experience but unfortunately my expectations...
