The best ice cream in Munich, and one of the best (if not the best) I've ever had. And I've tried icecreams across Europe, all the way to Japan and back. This one...hands down the best. It's quirky, it's exciting, it's dense, it's high quality, it's just superb. The fact that they change flavors every day is genius. Also, there are no boring typical flavors which you would expect (like vanilla, chocolate, etc). Every flavor is something...exciting and new, combination of different fruits or chocolates/desserts/cakes/sweets/liquors/drinks/cocktails. You never know which flavors they will have, until you visit. Also there is always a flavor (or two) of some local dish or something currently relevant, as a joke (weißbier, sauerkraut, corona, pride month, etc). With every icecream you buy, you can pick 1 flavor which you want to try, so they will scoop a tiny bit for you and put it in the icecream which you bought. Price is a bit higher than the regular local icecream (2euro/scoop), but it's absolutely worth it + scoops are really big. I am glad I don't have this place in my neighbourhood because I would be there literally every single day and get fat just by eating all the icecream. Probably in my top 3 food...
Read moreVisited this ice cream vendor for the first time in a few years. It's located close to the university - so Sunday is a pretty good day to avoid any queues.
When I got in, the interior still looks like a few years ago - but what used to make this place unique (crazy ice cream styles like white sausage, mustard or other things like that) is now much more tuned down. Most of the choices are things that you can get at other ice cream stores as well. The most special things today on offer were a kalamansi-strawberry (but mixing two fruits is not extremely crazy, it's just that kalamansi is still a bit special), gin-tonic (done many times) and Obazda (a type of cheese spread that is a regional variety in the Munich region).
The latter was worth it and really tasted like this type of spread. I would have wished for more variety like this. The other choices were mainly things like Oreos, hazelnut/chocolate, other types of chocolate, raspberry, Lillet-Berry, white chocolate... so again, quite common things nowadays.
Cost for 2 spoonfuls was €4. I'll happily check again in spring if there are more varieties again available but for now, I wouldn't recommend anymore if you want to go there for the...
Read moreOk place, they have icecream. I didn't find it espectacular. If I were you I would instead go to IceDate, a bit higher on that same street.
The cool thing is they have very interesting flavors (last time I saw they had one with worms for example, and I heard they have some with sausages even sometimes). It's cool for the novelty, but sadly "interesting" doesn't translate to "good".
You like beer? They have beer icecream, which you will probably like, but you will probably enjoy more drinking a beer.
You like worms? They have worm icecream, but you're better probably just eating straight up worms (ok, this one might actually be the only exception).
You like icecream? They have...
