Got udon only. Udon noodle quality is good. Broth is a little too salty, but overall manageable and hits the spot (Say 4/5). Where it all goes away was the service. Got there 30 minutes before close (which is quite a bit for the bar-single-person-eating-noodle table set up. Was told they don't have space before close. I saw that a group was about to cash out (which was going to make quite a bit of space). I persisted front and waited. Got in ~ 20 minutes to close. Was reminded they close and I have to be out asap. I Immediately ordered, it came in like 5 minutes, ate, was out by 10 minutes to close (many others still there). Asked where chopsticks were (as it wasn't in the usual box with the napkins) was ignored. Rushed/pestered so hard to pick something (when clearly there was sufficient time). When I asked for the bill, I got ignored, I asked again to get it then saw eye rolls ... They only take cash below 20 euros......

I really like Ramen and I have eaten it all over Japan, Europe, Australia and the US. You can imagine that I was excited to visit this place with a very respectable rating during my recent trip to Munich.

The (Tonkatsu) ramen at Sano was unfortunately not very good. In fact, it was not good at all: The noodles were thick with the consistency of overcooked pasta. The broth pretty much tasteless with traces of corn and spring onions; the chashu was a homogenous thick lump of slow cooked pork. No other toppings like nori or egg not to mention that any balance of the ingredients was as absent as the flavours itself.

Definitely no recommendation, this was a huge...

The waitress was very mean and unfriendly, treating white and Asian faces differently. On an exceptionally cold day in December 2023, our group of four went to this restaurant. There were no seats available for a group of four, so the waitress, with a sour face, made us stand outside in the cold wind and didn't let us wait inside. After a long wait, two white women arrived, and the waitress cheerfully led them to their seats. Shouldn't there be a queue system that respects the order of arrival? Do we have to keep waiting indefinitely if there are no tables for four, while smaller groups arriving later get...

You will only appreciate things when they are gone 😁 I was rarely eating Ramen in Japan, and now, in search of an authentic japanese-taste. I have been to 2 Japanese restaurants. I ordered my favorite Tonkotsu. The first one, chashu is not even a real chashu. The soup is a bit bland. But this second one, Nudelhaus Sano, the reason I am posting is, this is the closest to the real Tonkotsu. Chashu is Chashu. Soup tasted like tonkotsu soup. 😋 Gyoza, almost. Wrapper is quite different and how it is fried. Japanese Gyoza is a combination of soft and crisp. Really nice feeling of eating them on winter.

Decent Ramen in a small Japanese eatery. The atmosphere with the counter and the tiny tables is very authentic and reminds you of Japan proper. The menu is only available as an online QR code but you then have to order at the counter. Service is brisk but not very friendly. The ramen noodles are springy and chewy, unfortunately the broth and toppings are bland. The broth is the key to a good ramen and here it lacks layers, there is no complexity of the aroma, it's disappointing. Overall a pretty mediocre ramen at Munich prices. Karaage was okay, it lacked the real umami punch and crispy shell.

Decent restaurant if you’ve never had good Japanese food before. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen which was decent (but the chashu pork was cold and there was no egg included) and a katsu curry which was made from boxed curry mix and had a ridiculously small pork cutlet. We had a taiyaki for desert which was clearly microwaved and cold on one side. We paid 42€ in total (with two drinks and a onigiri). At this price, there are much better options in the city!
