Terrible experience on June 18th
I came to Orno Cafe on June 18th, drawn by their reputation for good matcha. They open at 12:00, and I arrived about 20 minutes early. The place was empty, so I decided to quietly wait with my dog on the bench right outside their entrance.
Around 10 minutes before opening, a staff member appeared and, with a rude tone, told me to get off their bench and sit on the neighboring restaurant’s chairs because he needed to “set up.” His tone suggested I was somehow taking advantage of them, which was already upsetting — but I chose to remain calm and silent.
A few minutes later, he came back out and said,
“Don’t you understand English?”
At that point, I couldn’t stay silent anymore. I told him that I was waiting for them to open and planned to buy a drink. I was a customer. I showed my anger!
He insisted that I was disturbing his setup. But all he needed to do was place a small table and a cushion — something he could have done easily without asking me to leave.
Still, I stood up to give him space. After he finished setting up, I sat back down, trying to calm myself. Then he came out again, even angrier, and said,
“I ask you to leave. I’m serious.”
He claimed he was the owner.
I left — angry and disappointed. If this man is just a staff member, I hope the real owner reads this and considers how poorly customers are being treated.
If he truly is the owner, then it’s even worse: the café appears to carry a sense of superiority and suspicion toward others. Even if it had been a homeless person sitting there, the right response would have been kindness and basic respect.
Either way, Orno Cafe, you owe me a...
Read moreHello, I’m here to offer some suggestions for improvement—not to criticize.
Today I visited your shop. The matcha was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the place is beautifully designed. However, there was a male staff member—tall and wearing a red cap—who spoke to me in a rather unfriendly manner. I genuinely didn’t know where to place my order because the counter was not in the usual ordering position. So I simply asked, “How should I place my order?” and the male staff member responded, “I need space. Please wait over there. No hard feelings.”
Honestly, if he had said it more politely, I would have understood. Also, if there had been a clear sign, I wouldn’t have needed to ask. On the other hand, the female staff were lovely and courteous.
The 3 stars I’m giving are for: – 1: The female staff – 1: The taste – 1: The ambiance of the shop
Thank you for listening. I’m giving this feedback because I truly want to see your...
Read moreOverpriced for baverages that are no more than mideocre. Definitely not the best coffee and matcha in Munich. The service was slow and understaffed for a café that seemed to be quite popular as there were a lot of customers. My partner and I waited for a very long time to be served but the staff were friendly at least if I ignored the part they told us to wait in the corner.
The interior of this establisment was questionable. Even as a minimalist myself, the choice of aesthetic was embarassing and uninviting. A large section of this café had so much negative space with no seating area and barely any decorations as if it was still under construction. Is the area still a work in progress or simply to emulate an art exhibition studio. Overall my partner and I were extremely disappointed with this café. It felt pretentious and it was...
