We were to this restaurant by the promise of Sichuan cuisine (which we know well), but unfortunately that promise was not fulfilled: the dishes were completely tasteless and lacked authenticity, as there was absolutely no Sichuan pepper, and they were also overpriced for the quality offered.

The experience was further ruined by an unpleasant episode. The waiter or perhaps the owner decided himself to correct our 11-year-old son in an inappropriate tone, insisting that he should ask in German to him if he can use the bathroom, instead of accepting the polite question “Where is the bathroom?”. We pointed out that it’s not his job to act as a teacher to other people’s children (paying customers), especially in that manner, as it made our son uncomfortable.

Not only we did not receive any apology, but we also witnessed gossip about us directed at the regular customers sitting nearby, who—annoyed by the fact that we weren’t Germans started to talk to us aggressively till to told us to “go back to our country,” ignorantly assuming we were Ukrainian.

Besides the fact that we are not Ukrainian and even if we were, there would be nothing to be ashamed of , we found this attitude offensive and concerning. We responded by noting, with a very appropriate word hat we never use respecting the history, that certain behaviors sadly recall dark pages of German history. (And by the way, when they come to Italy, none of them speaks Italian, but I’m certain no one would be so inappropriate and aggressive there.) so than offended they scream they would call the police.. no words.

In conclusion: a disappointing experience from every point of view. If you are Italian or of any nationality looking for good food and respect, we strongly recommend you look elsewhere and skip this place without hesitation. Unfortunately we were so stupid to not read the reviews otherwise we would save 80 euro for something better and for a clean...

My husband and I went for our Friday, "week unwinding dinner date". Actually by chance as we could not get parking at our preferred restaurant. (We have been here before. Service was never this bad.)

Got in and ordered immediately. We sat down and then a group of Chinese guests came in (1 German guest) and sat next to us. All good so far.

We had just ordered tea and our main course.

We waited for about 35mins. And nothing came. Still thought nothing of it until, we noticed that the Chinese group got about 5 -6 items of their order, whilst we barely got our teas. Then another item entered their table. By then we were very hungry and so all of this was very obvious. My husband went and asked when our order will arrive. The guy muttered "something". Another item to their table, then we asked, How is it that table came after us and almost 45mins in we have not received anything of our order? He purported to blame the kitchen, that the kitchen does not know the order of guests arrival, and is what they send up is what they serve. (It's beyond me how he expects that the kitchen (basement) would know without him as a waiter informing then). He said 2-3mins and we will get our order. We waited. Then the owner lady came with our order items and then like a threat, she greeted us with do you want these or not? Unbelievable!!! On the verge of walking out, my husband said yes. For me with heavy heart and a hungry stomach I stayed..haven waited an hour already. (I really should have walked out) Very disgusting behaviour, poor customer service. Clearly preference was given to their Chinese guests over us and with absolutely no apology nor care. That's it!! Never again..

NEED TO GET CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. Not even 1 star is worthy of...

Had heard about this place from some of my friends who are regulars here and finally got to experience it for myself just after Christmas. I was not disappointed. Probably the best choice for Chinese food in Munich that I have visited til now and I will be visiting again for sure. A good selection of genuinely spicy (not the German interpretation of 'spicy' which is anything but) dishes, friendly, attentive service and the place seems to be well-visited by Chinese guests (which I also take as an indication that the food is a bit more authentic than what usually passes for 'Chinese food' in these parts). If you do not like spice or you are expecting fancy surroundings and an extensive drink menu to go with the food, this is probably not the place for you. The only negative point (or minus point which stops me from giving the place 5 stars) is the price range. Definetely not cheap and it is advisable to go with a group of friends and share various dishes - then it doesn't work out too...

I had been to this place when it was still named "Sichuan Küche" back in 2021, and it was good then, but man, something happened to this place since it changed owners! It's now called "Sichuan Ecke" (Sichuan corner), and it's fantastic now. The food is really quite authentic Sichuan food now (to someone who's married to a Chinese and goes to China every year or so). But even more importantly, the new staff is unbelievably chill and friendly. The gentleman (in his 50s) who served me was running around serving at least 8 tables with some 20 customers, and he was in the best of spirits, joking with everyone and being far from overwhelmed! Also, both his Chinese and Bavarian were native-level, which is no small feat. I will definitely be back for great food and a chuckle! FYI, since they changed name and owner, they now do accept debit and credit cards, though I had to pay an extra €1.20 in fees because my credit card was a non-EU one. Unusual, but no big deal. (At least they're no longer cash only.)

Food was relatively expensive. Some of Chinese were there so quite sure it's a good Chinese restaurant. The KaoYu was expensive and not worth it. Not so many choices for the vegetables, or anything in general. The only dessert they have is the sesame balls. Spare ribs were with garlic and nice. The cold chicken was very good and spicy. The calamari was crispy and salty, really good. The mapotofu was quite nice as well. Won't get the fish and duck anymore. They don't accept credit card, only debit card and cash. As I read in some comments, they'll allow credit card if you want to pay extra 5%. So, be prepared.
