Dined in different 1-star and 2-star Michelin restaurants around Europe before and have to say that the overall experience at Tantris left me unimpressed. Out of the 8 course menu I only really liked two of the dishes and felt the rest of it was not very creative or special. The wine-pairing was very underwhelming. There was only one wine that really matched my expectation and taste. We did have a non-alcoholic wine pairing from which most of the liquids smelled and tasted like tea. There are some amazing and great non-alcoholic wines out there. In my pregnancies I tried many and what I got yesterday unfortunately wasn’t tasty but just felt like tea or juice. That being said, everybody has a different taste of course and it simply hasn’t been my taste.
However I wish there would have been more background information such as why to pair this with that or what led the chef to compose the dish like that. Also it felt strange to have a bowl of mushrooms that was presented with the entree that was passed along all the tables. The best part of the dinner were the greetings from the kitchen from which I enjoyed all. The service was way too slow, at times I felt like as if we were forgotten. The overall atmosphere therefore wasn’t giving me a good feeling.
Like said in the beginning, I’ve been to 2 and 1 star Michelin restaurants before and I simply don’t see the 2-stars reflected in yesterdays dinner experience. My favorite dishes...
Read moreI visited Tantris after renovation break on 3rd weeked since reopening. Ordered full 8 course 295 € Menu without Wine Tasting. Get ready for a new Tantris experience in familiar environment. The food and staff is nothing similar to Tantris before Covid time. I miss old Tantris where all wishes of customer were complied. The food was beautifuly prepared, taste was good (except Truffle Ravioli, which were to die for - the best truffle dish of my life) until the dessert part. The sweet finale, which wasn´t sweet at all, vague sweet taste of milk rice with salty aspects under it complementing truffles slices on top. We did not finish the dessert and refused to take second one, which wasn´t sweeter neither - said the Waiter. There was no effort to offer us some satisfying sweet alternative at all. Can you imagine to leave high-end restaurant without a proper sweet Dessert? The Desserts were deducted from the total bill. The Staff as well as Management is not really open to justified criticism. We were told to find another restaurant if we dont like it. Well, I wish you dear new Tantris a successful time, so you don´t have to fight to keep the customer coming back, we will give it one more chance in 6 months, if the experience will be similar, I will spend 1000 € rather somewhere else where they care about my wishes and opinions without perceiving me just...
Read moreThe lunch I had at Tantris definitely is memorable and one of my favorite experiences I've had in a Michelin star restaurant. They provide generous amuse bouche to start and everything was a joy to bite through, so fun and delightful. I have found a lot of Michelin restaurants in Germany focus heavily on acidic taste, but Tantris strikes a delicate balance and is more light and gentle. My most memorable dish of the day was the seabass that is styled after ratatouille - it almost looks like the one in the animation, but thin layers of eggplant, zunichi, red pepper and seabass wrapped together beautifully, and the seabass was a beautiful ingredients into the dish, make it so creamy, rich, and delicates. Unfortunately since i just went there by myself i didn't try all the wine pairing, but the wine pairing with the seabass dish was amazing and elevated the tastes so well. The sommelier is amazing. I feel so sad realizing how much I missed out not trying all the wine pairing, but I'll definitely come back for dinner and have a full experience with wine pairing.
Service was swift and polite, but they are a bit quick to clean up my bread butter and drink without asking, and I feel a bit sad to have departed early from my little cocktail that I didn't get to finish.
Overall one of a...
