It appears the staff here (at least the one we were unfortunate to meet) have a massive attitude problem. My three-year-old daughter and I visited the nearby playground and took a wrong turn, whilst looking for the exit, and ended up in the beer garden. We realised our mistake straight away and were on our way out again when a waiter comes out of the building, barking at us for not wearing a mask. Please bear in mind we were 1) outside, 2) at least 4 metres away from anyone, 3) there were only six or seven drinkers in the whole beer garden as it's October and they were all sat well away from us. I calmly explained that we had taken a wrong turn and were looking for the exit. The guy snaps at me and my daughter and started talking about how it's people like us who are responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in the world through our selfish actions. He then asked if I had a mother and what she would think about my behaviour. Guy was absolutely CRAZY. I tried to ignore him but he continued following me and my daughter, shouting insults about my mother the whole time. Utterly, utterly bizarre. I have never experienced anything like it and my daughter was in tears. I can only hope he was "just" having a bad day?? I hope management can identify who was on duty this afternoon (16.30 on the 22.10.2020) and have a word with him - he was in his early to mid-forties and had a foreign accent when he spoke German. I would respectfully suggest he brush up on his customer service skills as the guy has a serious...
Read moreMy favourite biergarten in Munich, however trying to catch this place open is a russian roulette.
I know it’s open only in “biergarten weather”, however there were many times when i went there on a perfectly sunny day, within opening hours, no holiday and it was closed with absolutely zero information anywhere about it. This gets VERY frustrating when you don’t live near and travel for an hour to get there only to find out the place is closed with no way to know this ahead.
I really love this place, the food and the atmosphere is superior to any other biergarten i’ve been to in Munich, but at this point I feel like I most times i went there it was closed and i was forced to go back home or go to a different place and now everytime I want to go I am stressing whether it will be open this time or not.
Taxisgarten has a instagram page with frequent posts, why not use it to inform people whether it’s open or closed?
I really want to go there more often so much but every time becomes a gamble.
(Also would be really good to know what time the kitchen closes, as there is no information on this...
Read moreThe Taxisgarten was very spacious and beautiful with a small playground in it. The sitting area was mostly empty on an early Wednesday morning.
We ordered the Ochsensemmel which is the shredded ox sandwich, and the shweinswürstel with sauerkraut and that one sweet bread. The Ochsensemmel was amazing and I would highly recommend it. So was the sweet bread though I don't know what it's called. The shweinswürstel was ok, I would not get it again.
I got a liter of Radler and my husband got a liter of their Russ beer. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. There is also a bathroom there, don't forget to tip the bathroom attendant a few euro coins. Everyone was very friendly, I think they could tell we were tourists.
Very nice experience, highly recommend...
