A Royal Dining Experience:
As I stepped into The Indian Room, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant's commitment to serving authentic Indian cuisine was evident in every aspect, from the decor to the service, and most importantly, the food.
Starter: A Flavorful Beginning
We began our meal with the Kale Patte ke Kurkure chat and Gun Powder Potatoes. The Kale Patte ke Kurkure chat was a masterclass in textures and flavors, with crispy kale leaves giving way to a tangy and spicy filling that left us wanting more. The Gun Powder Potatoes, on the other hand, were a revelation - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a subtle kick of heat from the gun powder seasoning. Both dishes were expertly prepared and presented, making for a delightful start to our meal.
Main Course: A Symphony of Flavors
For our main course, we opted for the Lamb Shank Nihari and Paneer Tikka Anardana. The Lamb Shank Nihari was a slow-cooked masterpiece, with tender and fall-off-the-bone lamb shanks in a rich and flavorful sauce that was both comforting and indulgent. The Paneer Tikka Anardana, on the other hand, was a beautifully balanced dish, with marinated paneer cooked to perfection and served in a creamy anardana sauce that added a lovely sweetness to the dish. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were generous, to say the least.
Dessert: A Royal Treat
We ended our meal with the Daulat ki Chaat, a traditional Indian dessert that was a perfect conclusion to our culinary journey. The Daulat ki Chaat was a masterful creation, with a delicate balance of sweet and tangy flavors, and a texture that was both creamy and light. The dish was garnished with a sprinkle of cardamom powder and a few strands of saffron, adding to its regal and indulgent feel.
Service: Attentive and Knowledgeable
Throughout our meal, the service was attentive and knowledgeable, with our server happy to answer any questions we had about the menu and make recommendations. The staff were friendly and courteous, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.
Conclusion
In conclusion,The Indian Room is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. With its extensive menu, generous portion sizes, and exceptional service, this restaurant is sure to delight even the most discerning palates. Whether you're a fan of spicy dishes or prefer milder flavors, The Indian Room has something for everyone. We can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings.

Part One: Just two weeks in and this new Indian fine dining gem in Munich is already turning heads—and taste buds. With decor that effortlessly marries royal Indian opulence with sleek modernity, every detail sets the stage for a culinary performance. The service is as sharp as a perfectly sliced tandoori, anticipating your every need with a smile. And the food? Think Bollywood drama on a plate: bold spices, artful presentations, and twists on classic curries that keep you guessing. Top it off with inventive cocktails that mix tradition with a cheeky modern flair, and you’ve got an experience that’s as fun as it is refined. Book a table—you’ll want to be part of this spicy new chapter in Munich’s dining scene.
Part Two: Just two weeks in, and this new Indian fine dining spot in Munich is already stealing the show! The opening act? A KALE PATTE KI KURKURI CHAAT that makes crispy kale, tangy tamarind, mint, sweet curd, and pomegranate dance like Bollywood stars on your tongue. Not to be outdone, the TANDOORI LAMB CHOPS—infused with garam masala, ginger, garlic, and yogurt—set the bar high with every succulent bite.
The main courses roll out like a blockbuster lineup. OLD DELHI BUTTER CHICKEN stars a tandoor-roasted chicken in a lush makhni curry, served alongside perfectly fluffy basmati rice. The GOAN FISH CURRY, featuring crispy yet delicate Zander fillet in a vibrant coconut curry with dash of curry leaves fritters, whisks you straight to coastal paradise. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, the LAMB SHANK NIHARI MIT SHEERMAL-BROT makes a grand entrance: melt-in-your-mouth braised lamb shank paired with saffron-kissed sheermal bread that’s nothing short of dramatic.
No Indian feast is complete without a supporting cast of breads, and the INDIAN ROOM BREAD BASKET delivers with Laccha Parantha, Butter Naan, and Cheese Kulcha that are simply irresistible. To close out the performance, dessert takes a playful turn: PAAN & PISTACHIO KULFI FALUDA offers a cool twist on tradition with homemade paan milk frostie and basil seeds, while the CARROT HALWA TART—featuring winter carrot, reduced milk, ghee, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream—is the perfect sweet encore.

Read moreIndian food has gained a not-so-good reputation due to food being mediocre (I'd say below mediocre as well) in almost all the restaurants in Germany. I have extremely high standards for Indian food. When Indian food is made by someone who truly understands the intricacies of balancing flavors, it is a stand out. And that is exactly how it is at the Indian Room. Words fall short to describe this place and how good the food is! You take a bite of the food and it just touches your soul. Beautifully made food. Few dishes that we tried- Gun powder potatoes: A balance of crispy and soft potatoes, spiced rightly with some amazing dips. Baingan bartha: Spices are beautifully balanced in this dish. Mango lassi: Probably the best lassi I've had. The hint of cardamom is the best part of the lassi. Even the basmati rice given along with the baingan bartha is so neatly done.
The manager and all the staff are super nice. At the end of the meal, the chef came to all the tables and asked if everyone liked the food. The chef deserves a standing ovation.
The ambience of the place is done very elegantly and thought has been given to all the detailing. Furniture feels royal, beautiful traditional paintings on the wall, light classical Indian music in the background and a hint of incense in the air. Perfection.
I wish I lived in Munich to visit this gem of a place more often. But I see myself making trips to Munich just to eat here.
Thank you for the...
