Ristorante-Pizzeria Mamma Mia — Restaurant in Oldenburg

Just want to share my dining experience today at Mamma Mia Restaurant in Oldenburg, Germany, my hometown. I am a Flight Attendant and of course i am not that easy to satisfy when it comes to dining. Being always on the go and always in different countries, we have the privilege to to eat in the best hotels and restaurants in different countries. It’s fun and i love it, but when i am home during my off days, i prefer to stay home and cook and that is why i seldom go to restaurants. Today, our friends were in town and they want to go to Mamma Mia, because it’s the place to be when you want authentic Italian food. It’s the best Italian Restaurant in town! Our Friends and i had a great time, spent almost 4 hours there. We are very satisfied with the food we ordered and the service was excellent! Our server Rosario was very attentive and friendly. Was expecting quality Italian cuisine as they were Italian. Ordered Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, which was over cooked and the meat was that horrible catering ground meat. The added protein of a FLY did not help. When pointed this out to the waiter, response was we were dining outside NO APOLOGY, however the FLY was in the meal when served. The Penne All' arrabiata was very average. I guess when your order arrives within minutes in restaurant that is full you have to question the freshness of the preparation. Very disappointing but i guess as mostly frequented by tourists repeat business is not an issue. Perhaps we are spoilt by living near a superb Italian restaurant where the food is as good as...

It's a popular italian place among the people of the town, but except a nice atmosphere it really doesn't offer anything more than regular italian food and a wide menu. Good selection of wine. Plates are fulfilling, but a bit oversalted, especially the side dish. Lamb was nice, minestrone soup is average/boring. Overall good experience but doesn't worth more than 3 stars.

Update with my response: yes, you don't have to misunderstand me, this is a nice place in town, but not something where I would regularly go back. Thanks
