LA LEMON VITA — Restaurant in Potsdam

I travelled into Potsdam in search of a coffee/hot drink to enjoy in the mid-morning sunshine. When I saw this incredible coffee shop, I knew my prayers had been answered. Set in the Nauener Tor in central Potsdam, the cafe boasts an incredible atmosphere, with idyllic views and sparkling conversation just two of the great assets it employs to create its setting. I ordered a Hot Chocolate, and whilst it was on the expensive side at 5€, it certainly was, for me at least, worth the price. Basking in the sunshine, I reflected upon how lucky I was to have found a little oasis in the urban landscape, and will certainly be coming back next time I find myself in the city of Potsdam, or even in the country of Germany in general. I have been to this place twice. The first time, after waiting a long time, I had to get up to ask the waitress for a menu. She said she would bring me one, and after waiting even longer, I just got up and left. I decided to give it a second try because of a recommendation, but it was equally disappointing. Wunderschöne Location, tolles Personal, hervorragende Qualität … normalerweise mein absolutes Stammlokal. Heute muss ich aber leider auch mal konstruktive Kritik loswerden. Der Laden hat ein tolles Konzept und Qualität hat natürlich seinen Preis. Das Etageren-Frühstück aber von 13€ auf saftige 17,50€ anzuheben, hat mich heute etwas verwundert, zumal mir das Personal dazu auf Nachfrage nur sagen konnte, sie wüssten nicht wieviel es vorher gekostet habe und könnten mir dazu keine Auskunft geben. Auch ist der Service schnell überfordert, sobald die Terrasse voll ist, die Wartezeiten werden immer länger, man muss den Kellnern hinterherlaufen, um eine Bestellung aufzugeben, weil sie die Tische nicht im Blick haben und das Besteck wird erst gebracht, nachdem das heiße Rührei schon 5 min auf dem Tisch steht. Wer die Preise anhebt, muss auch entsprechende Leistung bringen und daran mangelt es leider noch erheblich.
