NAMASTE — Restaurant in Regensburg

*UPDATE - I think it's a pity that you lie and cover up for your employees mistakes instead of owning up to them and apologizing. I AM NOT JUST CLAIMING SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! Why would I do that? I even say normally this is a great restaurant and I have eaten here often. You have a waiter with a bad attitude who took it out on a customer. All I was doing was sitting outside waiting for a friend to join me for dinner. There were three of your waiters having tea who saw it all and did nothing. No other customers were around as I was there at 17:00, I was the only one there. Say what you want, but you have a bad waiter with a chip on his shoulder and poor customer service. ** I usually love this restaurant, but today the waiter told me I could not sit at the table outside as they were not yet open. I was there at 17:00. He said they have to drink tea first, no problem I said I will wait as I would like to eat there. He then asked why I changed tables, from one two seater to another, neither were reserved. I said I wanted more shade. He was very confused and was confusing me as well. He was clearly upset and kept harassing me about moving tables, talking on my phone to my wife, and telling her he was unbelievable, as he was. I then told him I was leaving as he and two others sat drinking their tea and yelling at me. I will never eat here again and let everyone I know about this terrible and rude treatment of a customer. He said he doesn't care as he has many customers, I don't know what his problem was with me as I just sat down to eat there. #UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! #RUDE!!! #THERE ARE OTHER INDIAN...

Two thumbs up! You know what?! Three thumbs up !!! I was not expecting much from an Indian restaurant in a city that is more famous for it's schweinehaxe, beer and käse spätzle, but boy oh boy was I mistaken! My entourage and I were welcomed like royalty ! We were shown to a round table underneath a golden pavilion. With the attentiveness and precision of a goldsmith, our waiter hand picked the most corresponding dish for each individual culinary character. I took the Namaste spezial Teller. Shortly after taking our order, we were served our selection of Lassies. Some took a mango Lassi and some coconut, but one thing for certain - it widely opened all our Chakras for what's to come. As the food started making its way to our table, we could already hear the sizzling sound of steaming dishes simmering in hot pans and traditional copper bowls. Excitement filled every inch of my body. At once, the table turned into a whirlwind of colors and scents that took us on a trip to uncharted territory. The flavors were extraordinary and authentic. The quantities generous. Just as we leaned back on the comfy benches in full satisfaction our mindful and observant waiter came up with a tray of complementary mango Schnaps to help with the digestion. I can not stress enough how well was the service. Considerate, virtuous, highly skilled and yet casual. At the end my entourage and I felt as part of the Namaste family. Wir essen sehr gerne indisch und haben uns aufgrund der vielen positiven Bewertungen am Sonntagabend für Namaste entschieden. Entgegen unserer Erwartung war im Außenbereich gerade mal ein Tisch besetzt, drinnen waren wir alleine. Erst etwas später kam eine Mutter mit ihren Kindern dazu. Eigentlich ein guter Hinweis dafür umzudrehen.

Die Bedienung ging dann dementsprechend schnell und der Kellner war sehr freundlich. Leider war bereits das Getränk die erste Zumutung. Nimbu Pani, eigentlich eine erfrischende, indische Limetten-Gewürzlimonade roch schon verdorben, als sie auf den Tisch gestellt wurde. Anstelle der gelben Farbe war das Glas gefüllt mit einer grauen Flüssigkeit und einer schmierigen Schaumkrone in der Optik von altem Spülwasser. Das Ablaufdatum war längst überschritten und beim Geruch fiel mir nur ein Vergleich ein: Das Zeug im Siphon, dass sich über die Jahre ansammelt und irgendwann für eine Verstopfung sorgt.

Anstatt zu diesem Zeitpunkt zu gehen, haben wir zumindest auf ein leckeres Essen gehofft und dazu Ersatzgetränke bestellt. Für diese Entscheidung müsste ich mir im Nachhinein selbst eine schlechte Bewertung geben.

Ob es daran lag, dass wir unerwünscht waren, oder daran, das vermutlich noch zu viel vom Mittagsbuffet der letzten Tage übrig war, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Aber nichts an unserem Essen war frisch. Das üblicherweise butterweiche Tandoori Chicken war hart und selbst die verschiedenen Naans waren offensichtlich nur aufgewärmt und mit etwas Alibi-Öl beträufelt.

Wir haben uns entschlossen, das Essen dort abzubrechen und ließen fast alles zurück gehen. Der Kellner, der uns anfangs freundlich bedient hatte, entschuldigte sich beim Abräumen der vollen Teller leise bei uns, wusste also vermutlich, was uns aufgetischt wurde.

Zum kassieren des vollen Betrages von über 50€ kam jemand anderes an den Tisch. Der Geldverlust und die beiden Tage Durchfall waren die einzige Veränderung, die Namaste in unserem Leben bewirkt hat. Definitiv nie wieder, auch dann nicht, wenn wir nur zur falschen Zeit dort waren.

Und zur guten Bewertung des Lokals. Auf jede schlechte Rezension folgen innerhalb weniger Stunden immer 3 bis 5 positive Bewertungen mit fragwürdiger Herkunft…vielleicht jetzt nicht in meinem Fall, weil ich es hier erwähne, aber mal abwarten.

Meine Bewertung ist weder Fake, noch ein Versuch irgendein Geschäft zu schädigen…Ich hoffe nur, dass so etwas niemand anderem passiert und vor allem, dass es den beiden Kindern gut geht, die zur gleichen Zeit dort gegessen...
