Jan & Mitch Café Bar — Restaurant in Rostock

I have visited this cafe around 3 - 4 times. The ambience is comfortable, the coffee is ok, but one thing which mildly annoys is the attitude of the employees. They seem to expect that you know immediately what to order once you arrive. It is fine that they don't smile or acknowledge your greeting (seems to be the norm here), but what really gets me is that they show their frustration when you are still deciding what to order, and it makes for a truly unwelcome and tense atmosphere. This happens every time. I brushed it off as a one-off situation, which was why I kept returning, but it appears now that this is an inherent culture among the working staff. It is a pity, but I'll look for somewhere else which shows more empathy.

Wir sind wieder einmal zum Frühstück hergekommen, da uns die Frühstücksbox sehr gefällt und wir als Locals unsere locals gerne unterstützen. Leider waren meine Frau und ich etwas irritiert von der jungen Frau hinter der Kasse, als wir die Bestellung aufgaben. Obgleich es Montag morgen war, waren wir uns unschlüssig, ob es "Mauligkeit", Arroganz oder aber etwas Lustlosigkeit war. An einem villen Laden lag es zumindest noch nicht. Dies äußerte sich schon in einer gequälten Begrüßung bei Betreten des Cafes. Vielleicht legen wir gesteigerten Wert auf Freundlichkeit, da wir selber in einer Dienstleistungsbranche arbeiten?! Bislang war es auch immer top, da wir auch deshalb gerne hier hingekommen sind. Ambiente und Essen sind nach wie vor 5* wert. Und am Service kann man ggf. nochmal nacharbeiten, um Freundlichkeit als Repräsentantin des Unternehmens den Gästen gegenüber zu zeigen, so wie es bisher...
