Typical Berlin lack of care. I was there and forgot a duty free bag (with my receipt in it. Presents for family and kids. My fault for forgetting, but I came back 45 mn after realising I had forgotten it. So if dedicated staff had taken a few minutes to look at the receipt it would have been easy to transmit it to the boarding gate).. Came back 45 mn later, it was gone, gone given to whoever who never brought it to lost and found (supposedly security, but it never made it to lost &found/ so it was pretty much just stolen by airport staff).Very little follow up, and acute thinking of what is best for customers. Any other restaurant/cafe would hold the item and give it away only once sure that customers would not retrieve it. Very carless attitude from the manager. This is an airport restaurant, please be aware of your surroundings and protocol procedures, and document items transmission, otherwise with forgotten/ lost items I'm led to believe it's just organised scam when managers are not able to say who they gave items to and why. Airport staff, having a great time with all the " untraceable" items. For such totally unjustified prices (food not worth the price) at least provide minimum customer service and not a nonchalant attitude? On 08.01.2022 around 14:00. A young family of 3 with a one-year-old toddler we were standing at the entrance for 3-4 minutes. No written sign, that you should be waiting there, still. Nobody showed up from the staff, however the place was deserted. Then we went to a table to look at the menu in order to decide wether our toddler can have there anything at all. At that exact moment came a waitress to us in all haste and addressed us with an unpolite tone, saying that we should have been waiting outside and we should get back to the entrance as she should controll our vaccination certificates- literally 2 metres away where we were standing. We left this without a comment and showed her our vaccination certificates and IDs. She stated she could not read my name, yet again in an unpolite and harsh way. I still did'nt comment, I just noticed, that in my opinion, she should have had enough time to read my name. Her response totally inadequate, if I am not being polite, we should leave immediately. And then she showed at the entrance. I was shocked at this level of rudeness and ignorance. We left at this instance and we will never return to this...

Awaiting a flight from Berlin Airport, I had been searching for some decent breakfast before my flight. I tried what they call a ‘Food Hall’ which was terrible..with generally only pizza and burgers..or an overcrowded Starbucks, who have very little good food anyway. I gave up, and was prepared to go hungry until I got back to the UK. Then I saw this little restaurant. I read the menu, though not well enough, because when I asked the gentleman serving if they did eggs…he pointed out many choices on the menu. Even though I am basically vegetarian, I chose fried eggs with bacon…and I was delighted with my choice. Three beautifully cooked eggs, with crispy bacon, toast, butter, and a salad garnish arrived, to my delight. It tasted as good as it looked. I found it strange that in a city as big as Berlin, that other than this gem of a restaurant, they did not have good food for passengers.
