I was there some years ago and, remembering the good experience, I decided to take a visiting guest of mine to dinner there. Their website was down, but the reservation procedure was very smooth through instant messaging. As we were there, they exhaustively answered all my food and beer questions. The service was very efficient and fast. The steak was cooked to my desired degree of doneness, the potatoes were also very nice and crunchy, the onion sauce was very appropriate and the homemade Maultauschen was also nice, although not in my style. Indeed one of the questions was whether they are homemade. There was also some seasonal variations with pumpkin on the daily menu but we went classic.
Good local beer selection. We had the good Dinkelacker Keller and Sanwald Hefeweizen. Very local indeed. If I may give a piece of constructive criticism to the management, I'd like to suggest the purchase of more bottled dark beers. I know there was a dark Hefeweizen and Guinness from the tap, but perhaps having some bottles of Munich Dunkels would be nice. However, I realize this may not be worth it for them as I know they're not very popular...

They source much from local suppliers and place a high emphasis on quality, which is admittedly reflected in the prices – however, the value for money is still fair 👍 When it's warm, you can comfortably sit outside, and since the restaurant is located in a residential area, the street that runs right past it is not bothersome at all – on the contrary, it is cozy and has a lively atmosphere. My personal highlights:
Authentic Swabian Käsespätzle (believe me, there are so many restaurants that claim the same, but most of them don't deliver)
Elderflower spritzer (it's not as crazy sweet here then in most other places, if you can even get it at all there)
Guinness beer (ok, sure, that's not a Stuttgart thing but you can usually only order this...
Read moreSome of the best food we had in all of Germany! We went looking for traditional schwaben food and this place definitely delivered! The small little restaurant was so cute and friendly and the food was incredible. Even over a month later I'm still thinking about this place! It was kind of on a whim on a Sunday as most of the other recommended places were closed. I am so happy we ended up here instead and was not disappointed! The maultachen and kartoffelsalat was so delicious and my girlfriend got the roast that happened to be on special that day with garden salad. We were both sharing bites and all the food was so delicious! Would definitely come back here if we are ever back...
