Taverna Yol — Restaurant in Stuttgart

I was here for a Sunday brunch. It was full of white people, so that's not a good sign.

The weather was nice so I sat outside - a nice breeze went through, and it was quite relaxing, even though the Stadtbahn goes right in front of the building.

All the plates provided have chips. I tried to find one in the stack without a chip, but gave up after 10.

The food was overall very mediocre. The menemen was watery, the sucuk stone cold, the potatoes and fritters dripping with grease and not crispy at all.

Some of the dishes seemed like pranks on almans - canned button mushrooms in commercial grade mayonnaise? Sure.

The station providing fresh flatbreads was nice, but the filled flatbreads were underfilled and not flavorful. The other bread provided was quite old.

The rice pudding tasted strongly of condensed milk. Since the buffet provided yogurt, but no bowls (!), I tried to keep the pudding bowl, but a waiter took it away despite my best efforts, mumbling something under his breath. Not a great look.

The desserts were commercial grade, bought in, cheap crud. Nothing you don't also get at a cheap Chinese buffet.

Even the baklava tasted neither of nuts nor any other floral flavors. It was like it was soaked in simple syrup instead of orange syrup.

Overall, this was an enormous letdown. Fine - but certainly not...

Not giving 5 stars because they charged extra for the Cay (It was stated as 1.5€ in the menu card and we were not told that a larger quantity also was available. We ordered the one on the Menu card. We were served a cup each of hot nice Cay. When we checked it's price in the bill, it said 2.5€ !! We were shocked. We asked them about it and they said it's because they served a larger quantity! Since we have never been to such a restaurant earlier, we had no idea what the usual serving quantity was. So, they should have informed us earlier about the different quantities and their prices upfront while we placed the order. In fact, no where in the menu card can you find Cay mentioned as 2.5€) Otherwise, food was amazing and service was good. Could've easily voted 5 stars, but somehow...

Das Restaurant wurde uns sehr empfohlen, dementsprechend sind wir auch mit großen Erwartungen dort angekommen. Leider war es dann eine kleine Enttäuschung.

Wir sind eine Gruppe von 4 jungen Frauen... Es hat erstmal 30 Minuten gedauert, bis uns jemand bedient hat. Zwischendurch haben wir erfahren, dass Kartenzahlung nicht möglich ist. Eine Freundin hat einen, vor allem wegen der großzügigen Teekarte, Brennnesseltee bestellt. Der als Teebeutel von Messmer serviert wurde. Lol. Die Vorspeise kam nach langer Wartezeit, aber vor den Getränken...

Wir haben eine gemeinsame Vorspeise bestellt, das Brot war für 4 Personen gerechnet, echt ein Witz. Nachdem wir etwas Brot nachbestellt haben, wurde uns das zum Schluss berechnet.

Die Hauptgerichte waren ganz okay und lecker, allerdings nicht grade verhältnismäßig günstig und überschaubar. Stelle mir unter Grillgemüse zum Fleisch auch eher Paprika, Tomate, etc vor als Blumenkohl, Brokkoli und Karotten...

Nachdem die Hauptgerichte serviert wurden, haben wir 90 Minuten lang "fast" niemanden mehr gesehen, der uns hätte bedienen können. Wir hätten gerne noch etwas getrunken, aber niemand kam oder hat nach uns gesehen. Auch neue Gäste saßen in dieser Zeit da, ohne bedient zu werden. Oder die Bedienung kam schnell zu den neuen Gästen, hat uns aber nicht gefragt. Auf Rufen hat sie nicht reagiert. Da wir mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gekommen sind, trauten wir uns nach einer gewissen Zeit auch nicht mehr nach Getränken zu fragen, weil es zuvor schon so lange gedauert hatte.

Als wir schließlich Bezahlen wollten, mussten wir letztendlich zum Eingang gehen, um Jemanden zu finden. Kam ja, wie gesagt, Niemand wirklich.

Die Bedienung saß dann letztendlich entspannt an einem Tisch, neben der Eingangstür und hat sich unterhalten während sie an einem Laptop saß.

Wir haben uns weder gut versorgt gefühlt, noch hat die Bedienung aufmerksam gewirkt. Die Gerichte kamen spät und unserer Meinung nach...
