Kokono — Restaurant in Ulm

First, I want to point out that I generally liked the original restaurant a lot in Neu Ulm. But visiting this one was a big disappointment and we just can't overlook some things that we did with the original one. It is our fault for even giving it a second try. When we were at the first location, there was an weird system where we ordered a lunch but at the end one of it was not a lunch because we got the big bowl? They knew we were ordering the lunch, but they just decided that we need to pay a regular menu price. Ok we thought it happens once, the food was great, we will go again. This time we came in this location because the sign at the door said they offered a -15% opening discount. We walked in and immediately asked the server if the discount applies for the lunch menu as well. She said that of course it did and we sat down. After waiting a bit long we ordered a poke bowl and a pho. The poke bowl came looking really sad, completely different than the last time, with barely any fish on it and dry rice without any sauce. The pho had large chunks of ginger in it which we found strange having eaten a lot of pho in the past. We asked for sriracha and hoisin sause and the waitress said that did not have them. We find that weird for an asian restaurant like this. When we asked for the bill we noticed there was no discount applied. We politely explained what we were told by a different waitress when we first asked that it would be applied and the waiter told us that the lunch menu is already “so cheap” that they won’t do it and that the waitress that had given us the wrong information is “not legit”. We left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed and will continue to choose among other great restaurants Ulm has to offer. update: Ive been here so many times already. the food was decent but the service of one particular staff is quite bad - and it honestly kills the whole experience

and its not my first time being treated like that. I was not even finished eating and she didnt even ask to take my plate. before when I paid and gave tip there's no thankyou at all. 😅the other staffs were fine only her.Its too bad because the sushi is quite good

This was our first visit to this place, the menu wasn’t clear for us since we are not very familiar with the Asian cuisine, we had some doubts about the items mentioned in the menu and wanted some clarifications from the waiter, but to our surprise they were absolutely insensitive to our request and very rude telling that didn’t have time to clarify, they had to serve other guests and just walked away. This happened not once but thrice. We wanted to speak to the manager but even she couldn’t seem to understand the problem. We were so upset with this treatment that we paid and walked out without even ordering the main course or dessert. Never again want to visit this place with no hospitality or no clue how to treat customers in a service industry.
