Alte Post — Restaurant in Verwaltungsverband Meersburg

We have stayed at The Alte Post with Giavanna and Dani2 times a year for several years now. The main house is located on the lake promenade in the heart of town. When you wake up in the morning you look out your window and see Switzerland on the opposite side of the lake.||||My wife and I think the that Giavanna serves one of the best breakfasts we have experienced in our 15 or so trips to Europe. There are many choices of breads, rolls, meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, cereals, juices, jams, etc.||||The staff is always friendly and eager to help you. You cannot find any hosts friendlier then Giavanna and Dani. In fact we have become so friendly over the years with them that this summer they allowed their children ( Linda -15 and Fabio 14) to come visit and stay with us in California.||||We always fly into Zurich from California, rent a car and drive straight to the Alte Post to relax for a few days before driving to new destinations. The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. When you leave the hotel and walk down the back street you will think you are walking down a street...

The hotel is located with a great view of the lake, right next to the ferry terminal to buy tickets and the various gates to board the ferries. There was a little noise from the small shop/stand setting up in the morning.||||With 2 double beds, small kitchen area, and a spacious bathroom (shower only) there was plenty of space in the apartment.||||The welcome was friendly, with an easy check in and out process.||||The hotel’s restaurant was large with inside and outside seating. The breakfast was European cereals, cold meats, cheese and breads etc. a nice touch was the offer of boiled eggs too!||||Within a few minutes you can be walking between the restaurants and small shops or just taking in the spectacular view of the lake where you can take an inexpensive boat trip across to Konstance.||||The was parking for bicycles and motorbikes nearby, but I think parking a car would be more difficulty as a lot of the surrounding areas were pedestrianised unless the vehicles were travelling to/from the shops etc.||||Well worth considering, well priced and...
