The AC Hotel Würzburg has some notable strengths. The room is spacious, providing plenty of comfort. Its location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk to the train station and under 15 minutes to the town center, making it easy to explore Würzburg.|On the downside, the double room’s design is quite unconventional. The toilet and shower open directly into the main room, with the sink placed in the living area. The toilet and shower doors are semi-transparent, not fully sealed, and don’t close completely (there’s no latch to hold it in place). While the shower setup was manageable, the toilet arrangement felt uneasy, as sounds and smells were noticeably exposed, which could be awkward even for couples. The shower also lacks a place to hang towels, requiring you to step out naked into the main room, which was a bit inconvenient. It seems twin rooms’ toilets aren’t designed that way, so I don’t know why they feel the need to make the double rooms like this. Additionally, the shower water pressure was weak, and the temperature fluctuated between hot and cold, which wasn’t ideal.|Overall, the hotel’s location and spacious rooms are definite pluses, but the unusual toilet design may be...
Read moreStay three nights with friends and booked the rooms in the separate bookings as we did not know until late when we would arrive and depart. So six bookings in total. With that setup, not a problem at all for the check-in staff. They were friendly and helpful and just checked us in for the three nights without any hassle (as e.g. having to validate key cards daily). Many other hotels would have encountered severe problems with such a situation. The rooms we got were nice and spacious. Pristinely clean and all amenities you need for a short weekend stay. Had drinks at the bar after dinner - good drink menu and again very friendly and efficient statt. Breakfast I cannot comment as had it in town. Parking: managed to find a free parking space outside behind the hotel but if that is not available, the parking garage immediately behind the hotel has more than enough space. Housekeeping: they do housekeeping every three days which I think is a good idea, ecologically speaking. However, when we needed something, no problem at all - houskeeping is swiftly reacting to such requests. And all of that for an average nightly rate of just slightly above EUR...
Read moreI stayed here for 4 weeks in Aug/Sep 2024. Pros: New building, helpful staff, reasonable rates, great location, nice restaurant downstairs, and plenty of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Very nice gym with lots of squat racks and other useful equipment. Nice outdoor eating area in the back. Room fridge and HVAC were silent. Nice shower stalls, comfortable beds, and quality construction from top to bottom. Cons: Room seemed stuffy and the windows didn't open. Moving to a room with windows that do open resolved the problem. One shallow sink serves both the toilet and the kitchen area. The fridge was tiny, approximately 8 inches front to back. It's probably just for drinks, but I would have liked it to have capacity for leftovers and more groceries. It was not cold enough to store jam which became moldy after a few weeks but it was cold enough to store milk without it souring. The room was dimly lit overall but the lights by the sink are glaringly bright. Summary: It's a big list of cons but they're not major. The pros far outweigh the cons, but the cons require more description to be informative. I would...
