I was at a conference in Wurzburg and the conference dinner was hosted by Hofkeller. We paid 85 euros. For that we got an indistinctive vegetable soup, a plate of cold cuts, and a dessert with a scoop of white and dark chocolate mousse and a plum compote. The food was underwhelming. It was combined with a bit of a wine tasting, 4 glasses of 10 cl, which was nice. The room was very cold and the acoustics were terrible. It was impossible to have a conversation. It was seriously overpriced for the experience, half the money would have been appropriate. Shame on...
Read moreThe cellar tour is really worth it. Takes around an hour but it feels like 15 minutes. Funny and informative, and you get a chance to explore a unique and historic wine cellar. With history going back 500 years.
The wine shop itself is pointless. Impolite and unmotivated staff, not at all knowledgeable about their own products.
The wine on the other hand is really good. Not the best in Würzburg, but definitely around the top 10 area.
