Sternbäck — Restaurant in Würzburg

My mom and I recently visited Würzburg for the second time and wanted recommendations from the locals. Our tour guide told us about this hidden gem and I am so glad he did. My baba was German and made some deliciously authentic food, and this to me, this tasted just like her food. We shared the sausage appetizer which was huge. It came with a few sausages and a big pretzel with authentic German mustard. I order the spaetzle and it was SOO good. The cheese strung off each noodle and the sauce was creamy and rich. There had to have been at least 4 cups worth; it was truly massive. The fried onions on top added a nice crunchy texture. It came was a side salad that was the size of a full sized plate. The amount of food you got for the price point was amazing. My mom ordered the Wienerschnitzel which came with a pretzel. The schnitzel was smoking hot and tasty. Good food, excellent service, nice atmosphere, clean restaurant, reasonable price. Located within a car-restricted area.

The ground floor is a noisy pub, but the second floor is much more roomy and quiet. The servers; spoke good English, were very professional, attentive, patient, made some excellent cellent suggestions, and were genuinely warm and friendly.

The food was served hot and with good presentation. However, the snitzel was a little dry. The beers were good.

Overall, the best dinning experience we've had so far during our travels throughout Germany.

Friendly staff, fast service, delicious beer! We sat in the beer garden and had a good view of the quirky fountain. Staff are super quick from making an order, to food and drink arriving. No English menu, but the gentleman offered to translate if we needed help which was very kind :) - we used Google translate app (I'd recommend it for anywhere in the world if you aren't great at the language. Just point the camera and it translates!). We loved the food too and left happy and...
