I had reserved an event at Locanda a month in advance for a group of 20 people, but the experience was deeply disappointing. Despite the early booking, we were made to sit in the outhouse, where the arrangement was poorly managed. Our group was split across separate tables, even though there were several empty tables right next to us. When we asked if we could rearrange the seating so everyone could sit together, the staff refused — yet those same empty tables remained unused the entire evening. There was no music organized, and when we asked about it, we were told the music box was missing or broken. The decor was dull and neglected; some picture frames were broken, and there were even empty pizza boxes left around, which made the space feel messy and unprepared. Food service was slow — dishes arrived for different tables with delays of more than 10 minutes between them. Although the staff were friendly, they were clearly overwhelmed. We had to remind them multiple times just to bring condiments and basic items. Many of my colleagues traveled all the way from Kiel to celebrate a special occasion, and the poor planning and lack of care from management completely ruined what was meant to be a happy evening. If Locanda cannot handle or properly prepare for group reservations, they should simply decline them instead of disappointing guests. Overall: Poorly managed, unprofessional, and not worth considering for any...
Read moreAweful, aweful service. We came with a big group (45 people) and had pre-ordered and payed for everything weeks in advance. Yet when we arrived the staff had no idea who we were / why we were here and started handing menus. We had to hand the staff list with all the food we had pre-ordered / payed for. And then, we played the waiting game. We were in there for two and a half hours for a main + ice cream. The kitchen staff and waiters were absolutely panicking. We waited ages for the mains, then when they came there were quite a few changes. Some of us had ordered rigatoni pomodoro but were served spaghetti pomodoro because they “did not had rigatoni”. Fine, we accepted that. Then, some of us had ordered spaghetti bolognaise and were served rigatoni bolognaise… although 5 minutes before they had told us they did not have rigatoni… then we waited more and more and more for them to finally take ice cream orders. We spoke with the manager who did not see how anything had gone wrong. Clearly the staff had no idea we were coming and was totally unprepared but the manager claimed otherwise. He said that the waiting time was perfectly normal for such a big group, but we have been to 4 restaurants during our trip to Würzburg and all the other three served us quickly...
Read moreSo first let me tell you about the good: The location is perfect by the river with a large stone building and a vast terrace. The atmosphere is relaxed, inside somewhat modern vibes, very spacious. Now the bad: Service. Being ignored for the bill for over half an hour, even with kind reminders from ourselves, it’s a no go. Service was surely not even close to be busy. Also it seems there are too many young kids working, which don’t look like they are used to work ethics. Get some professional waiters! Yes they cost more but are worth the buck. Next is the pizza. I’m a pizza lover. This place doesn’t seem to love pizza. The pizzas are made over size. Larger than the large plates. Ok. First impression great, we get more pizza for the usual price. Second impression: it’s a dry piece of tasteless bread, almost non existing sauce and few toppings. Quality of the ham and salami is worse than a pizza from a Doner around any corner of the town. All in all I’m very displeased by this pizza experience. Maybe the cooks were hungover or tired but if the standard of the pizzas is this low, I will certainly say it’s been the bottom worst of around 50 pizzerias I dined in 2025. Sorry but not sorry for this bad review, I’m simply truly...
