Dale's Cake — Restaurant in Wiesbaden

Bad service. Good cake... But bad service. 80's retro cash only shop.

Detailed review for the owner: Used to love that spot...but... after being a regular when I am in town for the past 3 years, the last few times I realised that your staff's attitude has changed. It seems that they treat customers like enemies.

We sat down on a table. No one greeted us. No one gave us a menu. No one wiped our wet table. I picked a menu from our empty dirty neighbouring table.

No one came to pick our order. After a while a waitress stopped by after I asked her to. She just told us that the kitchen just closed. We asked if we can have some of the dishes that are displayed. She said yes and left with the drink order without really asking what we want. She clearly didn't want us to spend money.

A customer sitting behind us got asked to stand up in a passive aggressive manner so they can rearrange the tables in another way. Anyways I thought it's weird to boss guests around like that. Even we felt uncomortable.

After serving half of our drinks we had to change our order since they ran out of some tea. The waiter left again without taking the food order.

After a while we decided to order at the counter. We were hungry.

After 30minutes we went back to the counter since the waiters wouldn't hear me calling them. They ignored us. At the counter they asked us what we ordered. They forgot us. We cancelled the order and left. No appologies from the staff or whatsoever.

They also only accept cash in 2022. But that would be okay if their service was good.

They sadly lost us as customers. A simple "hey we are sorry, how can we make it up to you" would have been enough to make us...

Sweet little café, with hip interior, a pretty courtyard, interesting food options, and coffee that falls short of expectations.

The interior of this place is modern, in parts eccentric and overall cozy. The courtyard is sweet and a nice place to sit and get some works done on a sunny day.

The menu is rather large with some interesting combinations. While breakfast options are mostly variations of mundane German breakfast choices, other savory lunch options are creative, yet don’t always quite come together from a flavor profile point of view.

The forte of this place is in the name: cakes! The choices are varied and yum. Where this place falls short on is the coffee: barista skills are lacking, with the extracts being partially bitter and brunt, the milk foam watery, and the latte art at times not existing.

Overall, this place has potential, but is sadly falling short on...

Hi Dales, We were looking for some cake on our way home. And then we thought, let's support our "Kiez" and go to Dales. It's very closed to our home. Then we just picked up 2 peaces of Cheese Cake at your store here in Wiesbaden. I don't want to talk about the price and quality of your products. But! You need to talk to the people that work for you. They have been not really friendly to my wife during the ordering process. And then we also noticed how they treaded another customer, an old Lady, who just was looking for a piece of cake. She wanted to have them deliver it to her table. And then they shouted at her, again not very friendly:"You have to order this at your table". Sorry, but this is not how customers should be treaded. We are customers and not just some random people who are asking for cheap food.
