Very beautiful place, building structures are marvelous, the casino is seemingly professional environment with dress code. But that is it. I had worst experience in this casino especially in Texas Holdem table. I’ve been playing poker for decades in various places around the world and I never had such an unpleasure, unethical, and unprofessional treatment in this place. There seems no rules what so ever in this place.
I visited this place three times and on my third visit in 2 Mar 2022, I played from 7:30 pm to 1:30 am. There was a very unethical player on table#1 seat#2, speaking European language that I do not understand, targeting me (Asian American) that every time I’m on hand or middle of making a decision or my opponent is in middle of making decision, this person keep sharing his folded hands info to them and keep having a conversation with other players on hands against me, and keep mentioning “China, Chinese, go back to china”. Im not Chinese nor from china. Anyway, it didn’t bother me at all and we are all experiencing this at some point in our life that the racism is everywhere like a cancer. What bothered me was the staffs and dealers didn’t seem to care and didn’t even trying to stop this person being unethical but the dealer was laughing about his comments. Just like there is no rules in this place, no such thing we call professionalism doesn’t apply here in poker tables.
I always believed a poker game is a gentlemen game I’ve been enjoying playing and always wanted to visit Europe where it’s very famous with poker game that very much excited me to visit this place but once again worst experience with Spielbank...
Read moreAfter the Opera my girlfriend and I decided we would enjoy the Casino atmosphere. So we went to the Joker Bar. I ordered a Vodka Martini using Grey Goose. The barkeeper made me a yellowish drink that tasted AWFUL. I took a couple sips just to be sure and not judgemental. Then I politely called him over and asked him about my drink as Martinis are not YELLOW. He insisted what he put it was correct! No apology. I didnt drink any more and when another bartender or manager was there I explained the drink was not Correct. He proceeded to tell me they dont NORMALLY serve Grey Goose as its €20!. Did I look like I couldn't afford it? I told him its undrinkable and I would choose a wine. Can't make that wrong. He proceeded to tell me I had to pay for the Martini I said I have no problem with it but I would like a wine. He charged me for our drinks including the martini no apologies but didnt pour it out. I guess they were going to DRINK IT THEMSELVES. Totally Bad Service for such a supposedly high end place. I promptly went to Nassuerhof Hotel where Patrick the Barmaster made me a 'Perfect Dry Vodka Martini". And the piano player and guests added to the atmosphere so no need to go to the JOKER as...
Read moreOverall a nice visit 👍. Most important before the casino: always wear shirt, non rugged jeans or trousers and shoes; hoodie jackets are not allowed inside so better carry another jacket or blazer to stay warm; the entrance fees is €2.5. Please find the detailed summary below:
Dealers- I played on a lot of tables, and found for most of the dealers to be professional, patient. I am a non german speaker and they were accommodating me separately by speaking English.
Fairness - I did not find any issue with the fairness with which the games were conducted I’m really satisfied. the only place I was a bit of dis-comfortable was, at the card tables because everyone was speaking in German except me and I was not able to get along with the vibe of the table but otherwise it was OK.
Support staff - waiter at the bar was rude with me; he did not attend me as was busy with some “vip guests” at the bar.
Issue: I felt that at most on the tables the minimum denomination was either 10 or €20 which I was not comfortable with that at the beginning. And I think the minimum denomination criteria should be used or lifted from at least a couple of tables including both, roulette...
