We live near the Stadtmitte however this particular evening we drove back home from Kloster Erbenbach specifically to try this restaurant that I’ve had my eye on. My husband asked why somewhere new and not our usual spots, but I always like to try new places. So this review begins there.
Atmosphere: clean and lovely. Table wobbled but was fixed immediately by staff. We were greeted and waited on almost immediately. Food did not take long at all to arrive.
Now, I have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened and tonight I was in the mood to specifically to try it out.
My husband’s fruitti di Mari pasta was absolutely delicious, my son ate his kids penne in tomato sauce with pleasure, but my gnocchi!!! Oh It was absolutely the worst. The gnocchi itself was not hot or even warm which was odd considering it came out of the kitchen pretty fast, and it was very dense similar to store bought but I’ve even had better store bought gnocchi. This was not fluffy, pillowy and fresh made like Tialini or La Osteria and that was the first major disappointment.
The sauce was creamy with a nice big piece of fresh basil and that was the best part.
HOWEVER, it says with mozzarella on the menu, I would think melted mozzarella to compliment the cream sauce but NO it had just huge chunks of unmelted mozzarella cheese tossed in it that ultimately I couldn’t take more than a couple bites before the textures overwhelmed my palate. If the gnocchi (the star of the show) was soft and how I know gnocchi can taste I could overlook the odd chunks of mozzarella but the combination was dreadful. And this wasn’t Buffalo or small round balls of mozzarella either. These were chunks that looked like someone hacked away at. I didn’t even want to take it home and try to microwave the mozzarella to melt because the gnocchi itself was not enjoyable.
I sat there envious of my husband’s dinner and wishing I had suggested any other restaurant at that point.
I am giving this review a high rating because my husband’s pasta was absolutely delicious, I was picking off his plate and my son devoured his kids meal. The focaccia bread was also tasty but where the stars are truly earned was in the management.
As I sat there starving not eating my gnocchi and preferring the focaccia bread dipped in the gnocchi' sauce instead, my husband took notice and asked me how my meal was? After a long day with only a pretzel and a smoothie in my stomach I should have been devouring that food. I explained to him all of the above and he spoke with the manager Prezat Ibrahim.
As a manager Prezat was so dang pleasant I will give this restaurant another try because of him alone (well and the fact that 2 out of 3 meals were very tasty).
I am not a complainer and would normally just pay and never return but the problem with that approach is it doesn’t give the restaurant a chance to make it right. And that is precisely what Prezat did.
Prezat’s reaction was extremely professional and pleasant. His genuine self ultimately made my dining experience a pleasant one by not making me feel uncomfortable. It was awkward because rarely do I find myself in this situation. We offered to pay for my food but I would not take it home with me and he knew I really did not enjoy it. His professionalism alone earned me wanting to give this restaurant another try.
Next time I will try the pizza because the focaccia is made from the same crust and that was something I enjoyed.
On another note, others have said there is not a large kids menu and I do wish they offered a smaller pizza for kids in the future.

A Detailed Review of My Dining Experience at Remos, Wiesbaden
Following a deep dive into the mixed bag of reviews for Remos, my curiosity was piqued. Could the reality truly align so closely with the polarized feedback online? I embarked on this gastronomic journey with a blend of skepticism and hope, eager to form my own opinions based on the numerous accounts I had read.
Ambience: The ambiance at Remos offers a unique blend of indoor and outdoor dining experiences. On a Sunday evening, under a sky lightly veiled by clouds, the outdoor seating was comfortably inviting, perfect for enjoying the mild weather. Inside, the decor harkens back to a different era with its classic furniture and design, creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that encourages guests to linger and relax.
Culinary Experience:
Pizza: My venture into Remos' menu began with a Pizza Margherita, custom-added with Ananas and Burrata, at a total cost of €18. Here’s a breakdown: Size - XXL: More generous than expected, suggesting a smaller portion could improve quality focus. Dough - *: The dough was the highlight, boasting a thin, perfectly baked crust that maintained its freshness and crispiness throughout the meal. Pizza Sauce - **: The sauce was notably underwhelming, lacking in flavor and the vibrant kick of herbs. Ananas on Pizza - *: Seemingly canned, the ananas added a sweet touch, yet it fell short of providing the freshness I anticipated. Burrata - NO NO NO: The Burrata's presentation was deeply disappointing. Contrary to the expectation of a fresh, creamy center, it was served cold, frozen, and with a texture that was both tough and chewy, reminiscent of overly thick gum or a rubbery wheel. This was a significant detractor from the overall enjoyment of the pizza. Wine (Montepulciano 0,2l €7,90 - *): A delightful selection, with the wine offering a light, slightly sweet taste with reduced acidity, exactly to my liking. Limoncello (2cl x2 €7,80 - **): While not extraordinary, the Limoncello was enjoyable and made for a nice digestif, worthy of recommendation.
Service - *: The service provided was a beacon of excellence within the dining experience. Despite the mixed feelings about the food, the waitress was professional, managing my complaints with a level of grace and understanding. However, her defense of the Burrata was somewhat overstated. It’s clear that with genuine interest in customer feedback and a dedication to quality, the service team could truly stand out.
Reflections and Pricing: The stark contrast between my expectations, set by the myriad of reviews I read, and the reality of my experience at Remos was jarring. While the prices seemed fair at a glance, the issue with the Burrata - which remained unresolved despite my feedback - was a sore point. My advice to Remos would be to consider adjusting portion sizes and focusing intently on the quality of ingredients. This could potentially justify a slight price increase, leading to a more satisfying dining experience for future patrons.
In Conclusion: My experience at Remos confirmed the concerns expressed in previous reviews, leaving much room for improvement. The ambiance provides a delightful backdrop for what could be an excellent dining experience, should the feedback be taken to heart. I share my detailed observations in the hope that they contribute constructively towards the refinement of Remos' offerings for a better future...
Read moreFrom the moment I arrived, I was treated with extreme rudeness and a lack of basic courtesy. I ordered a cola with my meal, and the waiter brought it to me before the food, with an aggressive attitude. I politely informed him that I wanted the cola to be served with the food and without ice, as I had originally requested. His response was dismissive and disrespectful—he told me I had two choices: either take the cola now or he would leave it on the side because he would not replace it. I explained again that this was not how I placed my order, but he repeated himself with the same unprofessional tone.
I decided to let it go and told him I would simply order a new one once my food arrived. I waited for the lady who had taken my order to clarify the request, but she didn’t return. Instead, another female staff member came and sat near my table, and shortly after, a man came out from inside the restaurant. I asked him about the waitress who took my order, but he looked at me with clear hostility and questioned why I was sitting the way I was. I was merely sitting comfortably with one leg crossed over the other and slightly reclining.
He said, “Put your leg down,” in a rude and commanding tone. I was shocked. I responded by saying that he should speak politely. At that point, the other waitress next to me raised her voice and looked at me with visible contempt, rolling her eyes and behaving in an extremely disrespectful manner. When I called this out, she claimed he was polite and I was being rude, which clearly wasn’t the case.
Their tone, body language, and treatment made me feel singled out and targeted, and honestly, I sensed a racist attitude in how they dealt with me. I was not treated like a guest but like someone they were trying to provoke. Their behavior was dehumanizing and made me feel very uncomfortable. It seemed like they were trying to escalate the situation intentionally.
In the end, I had no choice but to leave. No one deserves to be treated this way—especially not in a place meant to...
