I came here with a friend who's really into Vietnamese food, and I'm so glad we did! The first thing I noticed was that the place had Anthony Bourdain's seal of approval, which made me excited to try it. The vibe is super casual—it's not the most polished spot, and the layout is a little messy, but it gives the place a cosy, laid-back feel.

Now, the food? Delicious. I had the Pho Chai; the portion was huge—much more than I expected—and the flavours were incredible. It was so comforting and flavorful—one of the best bowls of pho I've had. My friend also had a few other dishes that were just as good. Mal im Ernst: dieser Laden hat zwar eine recht gute Lage, aber sonst sollte einen das nicht unbedingt vom Hocker hauen. Das Lokal ist sehr klein, dort wurden diverse Designermöbel hingezwängt und um irgendwo sitzen zu können, muss schon einmal der Wagen mit dem Besteck auf den etwa 40 m² umhergeschoben werden. Wenn jemand gerade bezahlen oder bestellen will und einen Rucksack auf hat, kommt man nicht raus oder muss sich durchquetschen. Preislich ist hier alles absolut in Ordnung; auch der Aspekt Hygiene ist für ein Laien rundum abgedeckt. Die Gerichte sind auch sehr zügig zubereitet, sodass man es verschmerzen kann, seine eigene Bedienung zu sein. Das Essen ist auch irgendwie im grünen Bereich, trotzdem tut es wirklich weh, wenn man versuchen will, mehr als vier Sterne zu vergeben. Es schmeckt sehr gewöhnlich und auf Convenience abgestimmt, was aber für vermeinlich vietnamesisches Essen nicht authentisch ist - das schmeckt halt...
