Fischhaus Hotel am Schaalsee — Restaurant in Zarrentin

I stayed here with a friend (German) for 2 nights. Just checked out yesterday actually. I thought this was a very nice place to stay. The options are quite limited in Zarrentin, especially in the center. The staff was very friendly and the man who I think was the owner was on the property almost all the time. They had a couple of weddings there and the site was beautiful for weddings. As a note, there's so many nice walks to take and we took a great 45 minute boat ride for 9 euro but generally speaking the town could use a few more restaurants and shops. So if you are going, be prepared the Fischhaus might be the only decent place for dinner. :) The other restaurant (not cafe) was closed for a private party the 2nd night of our stay so we went back to Fischhaus. Not that the food was bad, but it would have been nice to have a bit more variety. :) That's not the fault of the hotel, however, and I'd recommend anyone staying there. Friendly, clean, reasonably priced and great location. Enjoy! NOTE: No a/c as is pretty typical. There was a fan in the room but if you were there on HOT days, you'd be very hot, in my opinion. It was in the 60s when we were there and although it cooled down, it didn't cool the room down that much PLUS keeping the window open for cooling purposes meant noise coming in...just FYI for those very heat...

Wohlfühloase mit Geschmack!

Wir waren Ende Oktober 2024 für 3 Nächte mit Frühstück zu Gast im Fischhaus. Unser sehr geräumiges Doppelzimmer mit Balkon und Blick auf den Schaalsee ließ keine Wünsche offen. Das Zimmer sowie das gesamte Restaurant und Hotel waren stets sauber und gepflegt. Zudem wirkten die Zimmer sehr gut gegen Aussengeräusche abgeschirmt und die Matratzen der Betten sind hervorragend und groß. Das Fischhaus ist vom Stil eher als rustikal und ruhiger zu betrachten, das dazugehörige Seehotel dagegen ist komplett neu gebaut (das alte Seehotel wurde abgerissen) und ist sehr modern ausgestattet. Im Fischhaus selbst befindet sich auch eine hervorragende Gastronomie die wir sehr gern zum Abendessen aufgesucht haben. Hervorragende und gehobene Küche zum angemessenen Preis! Eine vielfältige Karte mit u.a. regionalen oder sogar Bio-Zutaten lassen auch hier nur wenig Wünsche offen. Die Getränkekarte ist ebenfalls umfangreich. Sehr empfehlenswert ist das Biertasting mit 5x0,1l diverser Biersorten. Zu einem guten Stück Fleisch serviert...herrlich! Das Personal war stets sehr serviceorientiert, sympathisch und freundlich. Wenn es die Zeit zulässt, halten die Mitarbeitenden auch am Tisch für ein paar nette Worte an.

Sowohl der Frühstückraum, Sauna und Tiefgarage befinden sich im Seehotel (2 Minuten quer über die ruhige Dorfstraße).

Das sehr umfangreiche Frühstück lässt ebenfalls aus unserer Sicht keine Wünsche offen. Von Spiegel- und Rührei mit Bacon oder Toast und helle Bohnen...über Brot und Brötchen vom örtlichen Bäcker...hin zu diversesten Fisch- oder Wurstwaren als Brötchen- oder Brotauflage. Ach ja, die köstlichen Aufstriche nicht zu vergessen...und diverse Obstsalate für Müsli und Joghurt gibt es auch noch! Sogar leckerstes Birchermüsli! Die Kaffeemaschine brüht hervorragende Heißgetränke aller Art und sogar alternativ mit Hafermilch statt Kuhmilch - großartig! Für mich als Filterkaffeejunkie hab es frischen Kaffee aus der Kanne. Und Sekt ist bei Bedarf natürlich auch da. Warum ist mein Magen nur so klein... verdammt 😂

Die Sauna ist sehr ansprechend ausgestattet. Unterschiedliche Varianten und gemütliche Ruheräume stehen in stilvollem Ambiente zur Verfügung. Highlight: Sauna ist im obersten Stockwerk und nicht wie üblich...im Keller :)

Die Tiefgarage ist hell, modern und für größere Fahrzeuge bestens geeignet. Auch große SUV parken komfortabel und ohne Schäden an den benachbarten Fahrzeugen anzurichten ;). Es gibt sogar 6 Ladeplätze eines Fremdanbieters (Achtung: unbedingt Ladekarte an der Rezeption holen - günstiger und dann ohne Blockiergebühr!) mit bis zu 22kW.

Die Umgebung bietet hervorragende Möglichkeiten für ausgiebige Wanderungen oder Fahrradtouren. Zu unserer Besuchszeit war es auf den Wegen am See oder in den Wäldern eher einsam...traumhaft 🙏

Wir bedanken uns nochmal bei dem gesamten Team beider Häuser! Wir haben uns pudelwohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne bei nächster...
