Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant in Accra offers a delightful journey into the rich and flavorful cuisine of Ethiopia. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.

The star of Abyssinia is undoubtedly the Ethiopian cuisine, known for its vibrant spices, aromatic stews, and communal dining style. The menu features a variety of traditional dishes, all prepared with care and authenticity to bring out the true flavors of Ethiopian cooking.

One of the highlights at Abyssinia is the injera, a spongy flatbread that serves as the base for many Ethiopian dishes. Served alongside a variety of flavorful stews, such as doro wot (spicy chicken stew), yebeg wot (spicy lamb stew), and misir wot (spicy lentil stew), the injera becomes a delicious vessel for soaking up the rich sauces and spices.

Vegetarians will also find plenty to enjoy at Abyssinia, with options like gomen (collard greens), atakilt wot (spiced cabbage and carrots), and shiro (spiced chickpea stew) offering a taste of Ethiopia's vegetarian delights.

The ambiance at Abyssinia is cozy and authentic, with traditional Ethiopian decor, low-seating options, and sometimes even live Ethiopian music to enhance the dining experience. The communal dining style, where dishes are often shared and eaten with hands, adds to the sense of community and...

I just came back from the restaurant, and I am so impressed! I packed two meals for my brothers, and the hospitality made me feel like I was back in Addis. The food was excellent, especially the Quanta Firfir (ቋንጣ ፍርፍር) and doro wet (ዶሮ ወጥ) , which was absolutely delicious. The soft drinks and the coffee were also amazing!

I really pray that they expand and open more branches in Ghana because the experience was so nostalgic for me. Even though it was my first visit, I know I'll keep coming back whenever I feel too.

The pricing was surprisingly affordable—I expected it to be expensive! A couple of suggestions for next time: It would be great if they served bigger portions of injera and included more traditional Ethiopian drinks like Tela (ጠላ) and Kinito (ኪንቶ). Also, introducing a buffet option where people can choose their food while still allowing ordering would make the experience even better.

Overall, I loved everything and will...

Nothing is perfect but Abyssinia conquered my heart on a Sunday afternoon. Having been on my list for quite some times , I decided to take my little squad to their restaurant and I must say, it has been a rollercoaster of positive feelings.

First of all ,the location/decor is the pure representation of ethiopian culture which is a plus to the vibe. It gives you the real purpose of the place, also, being welcome by that young and energetic guy, forgot to ask his name but he was on duty as for Sunday the 12th of November. He is such a diligent person and has a good customer service. It is very crucial for businesses to have such people.

As for the food , marvelous, I must say. For someone who is passionate and who likes ethiopian culture, it has been a delightful experience for me at less cost. You should try the 97 combo along with their honey wine and coffee.

Thank you for being such a great representation of Ethiopia in...

I was there with a friend this evening for dinner. The ambiance was great and it reminded me so much of the original Abyssinia restaurant in Ethiopia. Unfortunately here there was no dancers like it is in Ethiopia. We were told they have that on special occasions. The food was great and we loved everything. A little added to the position would be great but overall food was nice. I am giving 4 stars because the waiter failed to bring our desert after we waited over 30 minutes. When we asked about it, he explained he thought we said we didn’t want desert. We thought this is not acceptable, a bit of training on attention to details, proactive, suggestive selling will do good here. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant.
