The food was mostly decent, but my problem was, all of their tomatoes were sour. As well as the mango was a bit off though pretty nice tasting overall, but the flavors of the other Mexican food was ok for me, I had a large wet burrito with beef fajita, and the shrimp tacos, the shrimp smelled a bit off but the taste was fine. Unfortunately for this place I don't think they stood much of a chance this day from me personally because I'm from Texas, I know really amazing Mexican and TexMex food, especially living in San Antonio, Tx for some time and being closer to the border at another time. In all honesty, I can cook much better TexMex/Mexican food at home by God's grace due to where I'm from and how I've learned to cook, and I have done so many times for my family that think my cooking was a lot better, which for the huge price of over 1200 GHC I ended up paying, makes me sad. This happened partly because my waiter didn't ask us if we were sure about a last second order we were thinking about, he just ordered it as soon as he heard me ask about it and wouldn't do anything about it because he said he already ordered it, and the other part because of trying their alcohol-free cocktails he was very pushy for us to order. He was kind and did a good job overall, but too pushy of a waiter in my opinion and too ready to order things without making sure it's exactly what you want. Also, my wife and daughter unfortunately chose the Mexican "Jollof" rice which they didn't like at all because it had hardly any flavor, I tasted it and it really didn't, it wasn't close to either Jollof or Mexican rice in my personal opinion. And, they had the chicken wings, they were overly sweet like mostly sugar taste, even as an American I thought so, they're both Ghanaians so they weren't happy with the flavors. Also, the sizes of the rice with chicken wings was way too small for the price of 150+ GHC. The chips were overcooked to the point of being burnt small, and the sauces were ok, except the "salsa" which is really like a sad pico de gallo instead, and with their tomatoes being bad we couldn't even finish it. The Chipotle sauce was decent and the salsa Verde wasn't too bad though a bit bitter. Overall, I'm not sure if we just happened to go there on a bad day, or if most people drink their strong drinks and therefore think their food is always good, or they just aren't what I was hoping for. Either way, I personally will never go back. I can't wait to take my Ghanaian family to Texas for them to have a far superior experience, perhaps even to Mexico so they can see what they truly missed out on. The only thing I'm giving them 5 stars on is the atmosphere, it was neat, definitely a Mexico/TexMex vibe to it, when we went it was only us and extremely peaceful for the most part, and decently comfortable seats which is rare in Ghana. Oh, and I have to add this in hopes the manager and or owner will read all of this. In Texas and other states in the US, you get served sides like beans and rice with a plate of your food, somewhere between 10 USD or 15 USD usually depending on where you go, you guys are charging for most dishes close to 30 USD and not any actual sides, my only side was a very sad salad I couldn't even use with my burrito because the tomatoes were sour and bad. Please revise your menu and prices, plus make sure your food is fresh so people won't get sick, and I'm sure your ratings will go...

I live in Cape Coast however I am Latina and I used to see their social media post about their dishes, drinks and atmosphere and I was like omaiga I need to visit this place!! We are in Accra for a few days and I made my husband take me here.... Decor is on point but at 7pm everything was dead.... I asked for a margarita that BTW cost 88ghc and they bring it to me in a whiskey glass 3 sips and margarita was gone! My husband orders a goat burrito and I ordered a burrito bowl with "grilled fish" when they bring our food my husband was like something smells bad and people let me tell you! It was my fish! How can you serve spoiled food to someone?! I didn't even touch the plate and they had to come and take it. Food is pre-made obviously because in 15 min you are eating and it is obviously not safely being handle. I wasn't going to post a review or anything because management after serving spoiled food apologize and brought me a new plate nothing with fish of course because wow however it's 4:59am and I have been pooping my brains out for 2 hours!!! Don't eat here this place is not safe and someone should come and check this kitchen. For overpriced fake Mexican food I was expecting way better than this! And I certainly didn't wanted to come to Accra for the weekend and on day one get food poisoning at a restaurant with this prices! For godsake I eat wakye from the streets and never gotten sick like...

This is the worse Mexican food I’ve ever had in my entire life. This is coming from someone who travel to Mexico and Puerto Rico often. The food was tasteless and didn’t make sense. Why the elote(corn) have only mayonnaise instead of the Mexican cheese. Gross! There is noooo spice in their salsas. I’m the white “sour cream” is mix with way too much mayonnaise! The tacos were not good! Their pitcher of Rosita was a waste of money with very little alcohol basically juice. The quesadilla had jollof in it but it was not good at all. I’m not sure if you guys are trying to cater to old people with no teeth or taste buds but the food here is not real Mexican food or even Tex mex. Taco Bell in the states tastes better! How do you not give spicy options for your salsa. Th gaucomole was gross too much butter and not fresh! The tomatoes salsa tastes like can tomatoes. I personally won’t feed this to my dogs. Our server was Eric and he was nice but the food here is a noooooo! I will not be back and will not recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Mexican food. The wings were ok but the chipotle honey sauce tastes like sugar! Where is the chipotle? Smh place educate your chefs or go get a real Mexican to make your foods. Stop trying to deceive Ghanaians with this nasty...

As someone who lived in Mexico for 8 months, i can say that this is the worst and most expensive "Mexican food" I have ever had! The cheese was sour and there were no spicy salsas.I spent almost $20 on a small bowl- that's right a bowl of nachos and a margarita that probably had 2 drops of alcohol. It's ironic that borracha means drunk in Spanish and I left the place sober. 🤣 The owners of La Borracha obviously spent more time, money and effort in the decor than the menu. It is evident that the pricing is to keep the locals out of the establishment because the place was packed with Europeans. I understand that we are allowed to have our preferences but there were too many things wrong for me to go back. The service was excellent! The manager and my waitress made me feel welcomed. I would probably go back just to see them again. It is clear that the employees of La Borracha love their jobs.

La borracha la borracha... love it 😍. This place was recommended to me by some friends before I finally went there now I get why everyone wanted me to try the food there. For me it’s the first Mexican food place I know in Accra Ghana and hey I absolutely love it. The variety of options made in terms of meat lovers, vegan and vegetarian 🌱 just was great as most places do not have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options so that was really a plus for me and the food was amazing. Not to forget the surrounding , the interior and exterior is amazing and so welcoming. The art works and the inscriptions in the walls are just beyond beautiful. Great lighting for photo lovers , seating made to suite all kinds of dates from couple to large large group. Hey it’s definitely worth a million visit after my fourth time already in three weeks.

Place looks great, colorful, fun, drinks were nice, food was okay. The empanadas were bad, super greasy in old grease and undercooked on the inside, we couldn’t eat it so they took it off the menu. The churros came with our main which is wrong as they were dessert. They took it back and I guess waited for us to eat the mains and brought back the same churro as they were cold and hard and tasted not like the normal churros I’ve had. I packed it to go and threw it out when I got home. The quesadilla and fajitas were great but the burrito was different, maybe an african burrito? Very dry and deconstructed. The sauces and veg that should’ve been inside the burrito were schlepped on one side on the outside of it while the inside was very brown and dry with meat and what looked like waakye. The servers were nice.
