Cuppa Cappuccino — Restaurant in Accra

I decided to go Cuppa Cappuccino after years of not having been there. I chose a Saturday morning, sat inside and ordered a latte, a chicken/bacon/avocado sandwich and a signature hot chocolate. Sadly, the overall experience was not encouraging.

Staff: friendly but slow - 20 min for food, latte 10 minutes later, and at least 15 minutes for the bill.

Atmosphere: Such a lovely setup, but I chose the wrong day. A very happy and loud family with kids playing ludo, and a group of young ladies loudly treating the whole cafe to their latest gossip were the other guests that morning. Whilst I loved seeing a family playing a board game instead of all staring at their phones, I wished for a more quiet setting.

Food: Latte: half the glass was froth, coffee itself was good Sandwich: well presented and but completely bland. I would not order it again. Signature hot chocolate: this was a huge disappointment. I asked twice if the drink was sweetened and the waitress assured me the barista would not add sugar. Hot chocolate for me is a rich, unsweetened cocoa drink. When, after close to 20 minutes, the mug was placed before me, it looked lovely. Alas, the first sip was an absolute disappointment. The chocolate sprinkle on top was very sweet instant chocolate power. The drink itself was an overly sweet Milo or Ovaltine. The barista was unapologetic. I returned the drink and asked for my bill. Yes, I was charged for the "milo".

My 1 star is based solely on service! I have never experienced a service worst than this. We are in 2024 why can’t you take orders on WhatsApp? You can only order via phone call and the number is always engaged but they will never return your call, as a business if you have missed calls you have to return them even if you were on another call but not them if you want to order you will have to keep calling until you get them. Now after struggling to get them on the phone they will take your order and full name, and tell you they will call you when it’s ready if you by any chance forget they will not call you! You will call them and then have to repeat yourself and repeat your order. I want to ask what is the point of taking my full name? Can’t you use that as a reference? You guys need to work on your customer service no body has time to go through all that for food they are paying for! Food is great...

I was honestly highly disappointed with my recent visit to Cuppa Cappuccino. For one, I was told that I could not sit inside unless outdoor dining was full. I'm sure this may have something to do with COVID-19, but I have no idea. The outdoor area is nice, but I knew there would be insects which is why I wanted to be indoors and I was correct. I had to deal with mosquitos and spiders landing on my table, which was very unpleasant. I went with the idea that I would be able to get some work done and have a great meal, but that was not the case either. There was no wi-fi available as marketed and the food was really not that great at all. I could not get through the entire meal.

My server I will say was extremely nice, but I can't say I would visit this location again. Very...
