I’m struggling with my taste pallet these days. But I’m sure I can pretty taste anything and judge whether it’s fresh or not.

Last week, I was at this joint with a friend of mine and we ordered (see photos).

Apart from the food taking eternity, I was very surprised that the Chef decided to play this silly game that they do when they want to teach a customer a “lesson”. I don’t think I deserved a lesson.

We waited patiently for almost 45minuted and when the food came, the presentation wiped all the delays.

My colleague had ordered a plate of Egg stew with boiled yam(I think that’s what they call it) and I ordered beef Fried Rice. I can attest that the food was delicious. I’m a poor eater but for the first time, I cleared my plate clean. So thanks to the staff especially the waitress who served us. Very polite lady. You could see how frustrated she was when our order was being delayed in the kitchen.

What annoyed me was that when I tasted the side Sauce it was clearly stale. I doubted my tastebuds so I asked my colleague to taste it and he felt the same. But I know what chefs do. I have been around. They think every customer is a fool so if you complain, they simply take your meal back to the kitchen and resend the same thing and watch eat it while they laugh.

I knew this so I folk-twisted the top of the said sauce to leave a specific mark. The waitress went to change it and came back with the same sauce. That was plainly cruel if not stupid. The waitress insisted that the chef had changed it. It wasn’t but because I wanted to be polite to the waitress for serving us with a smile, I simply put that damn sauce aside and enjoyed my meal. Which by all accounts was extremely delicious.

I was going to give this place 5stars but anyone who wants to give me a stomachache or food poisoning with stale sauce deserves...

This place is no doubt a sophisticated and contemporary bar. Full stars for the service and ambience. Now let’s talk about the common scam. If you are a foreigner and get surrounded by the local girls looking out for foreigners then raise a red flag. The girls including the bartender will squeeze your money. I with my foreigner friend went there last week on 31st May and our plan was just to take one drink and comeback home and sleep. But unfortunately he met some girls of cognizant and suddenly another girl tailed me and then they started asking for drinks. I whispered to my friend not to entertain them and return home. But somehow we were blended in the environment there and ordered one shot each for the girls and later one snack along with.

When we planned to leave we asked bar man for the cheque but he pretended not to be listening and ignored and delayed. Then my friend lost his patience and became loud but still he ignored. He was just waiting for us to become impatient and quickly pay without checking the items on the bill and leave because he had overcharged us. But since my friend was bit tipsy so I checked the bill and it was huge. 12 shots, 8 double black Vodka etc etc. I had just two beer and my friend took two red labels and rest was all the fudged items between the bartender and the ladies. All the expensive drinks were there on the bills and when my friend confronted he blamed him for not checking menu properly and paying attention before ordering.

So basically the girls ordered their fixed and most expensive drinks and took one shot but asked bar man for two. So one extra shot without having served ever was there on the bill. I knew this trick so didn’t argue. So just left the place and vowed to never come back to get...
