Persa's Tavern — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

Starter was fine, main meals disaster. Undercooked chicken, & cold main meal - concerning given it was pork. Informed them after we set the meals aside. First lady was pleasant, took away. Second lady obviously sent out by the chef - confrontational - not discreet asking if we wanted to see a thermometer. I mean that probably reads off the scale given the heat is in the 30s anyway! I declined and said didn't wish to argue, and we weren't happy with the food. Declined anything further just the bill. As it was late, and we would be past eating by the time we received the food. One meal was removed off. I understand everyone is trying to make a living and we have all been hit hard in one way or another by the pandemic, cost of living crisis etc. We wouldn't choose to leave a restaurant without dinner if the food was fine. What would we gain from that? Dog chained in the front, repeatedly barking too. Not relaxing atmosphere. Disappointed to say the least. Stayed in katelios before, not tried this taverna on previous visits and gave it a chance... I probably would of returned and been less inclined to write such a review had they been more receptive and less hostile when we raised concerns about the food rather than passive aggressive and intimidating tac tics.

Edit: in response to the owner - just because you sell alot of a product does not mean you cannot get it wrong on occasion. Tonight you got it wrong - it's a shame you couldn't see that and chose to question it repeatedly rather than accepting the concerns. Wow and delectable are the two words that come to me when I think about their delicious food! This family owned kitchen cooks food from their fresh produce and I have never eaten better greens or beans before! Their warm welcome was so much appreciated. Sophia, Markis and their family are such delightful people who were generous with their time and chatted a lot with us. Their mum cooks gorgeous food fresh made to order and their enthusiasm is so infectious. They cook organic produce and the taste is very reliable. Fried fish was quite fresh and was so light on us! Setting and atmosphere very nice, the plastic barriers mean you can sit outside without being battered by wind and bugs. Service was friendly albeit a tiny bit slow. Food was excellent, however the mousaka could benefit from some garnish. It was very tasty but just looked a bit bare and unappetising on the plate. The caramel cake is what I imagine you get if a sponge cake and a cheesecake made a baby in a bath of caramel, absolutely delicious. I can confidently say that the woman sat behind me complaining about everything and saying the food was bland is very wrong.
