Veramente Restaurant — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

We first visited 2019 and now back again just end of July - the food is just as incredible.

This eatery sets itself a distance from its rivals whereby that their food offering isn’t the usual Gyros etc but rather plenty of other choices to choose from without overwhelming you with the selection on offer.

The views from both ground level and up on their terrace is breathtaking - from the mountains, the sea and its neighbouring island (Crete I think), you really do appreciate a moment just to take everything in and the beautiful views continue to impress as sunset comes. I’d telephone ahead and make a reservation to avoid disappointment if full (which is common).

By far our favourite and number choice to visit on the island - we travelled from Lassi to enjoy our family evening meal there twice during our recent visit to Kefalonia.

One thing i do highly recommend is the Veramente Baklava desert. It’s that good that I am more than happy to come here just...

Stayed near by in this resort. Decided to visit Veramente Grill House. Having coeliac eating out can be a worrying time while away. We always show our coeliac translation card explaining about gluten free. The waiter was great explained the menu which foods were cooked and prepared separately. The fryer is only used for fries so limits contamination. He even went and checked the local ice cream ingredients which was gluten free. We went with lamb kleftiko and sea bream. The lamb just melted. Recommend eating here. Friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat out often as we cooked in the villa but from experience the restaurants and bars in Kefalonia can cater for gluten free. Probably use smaller less busy ones this way less chance of contamination when preparing and cooking. Don’t be afraid to ask the waiter or owner they are more than happy to explain and they seem to be more aware of gluten free than some restaurants...

Veramente Restaurant is the epitome of authentic traditional Greek cuisine prepared from fresh quality local organic produce - with a unique & creative twist - culminating in one of the finest dining experiences Kefalonia has to offer. Owners Elias and son Kyriakos were most hospitable making us feel like family. Kyriakos displayed a genuine passion for showcasing the local region and articulating in great detail the sourcing of ingredients, recipe, preparation and cooking method for the individual menu offerings such that we were able to fully appreciate the sublime dishes we devoured.
