Fish Point — Restaurant in Athens

This place has good and ok food but such a terrible service. We made a reservation for 3pm, arrived on time and it took literally 20 minutes to get a bottle of water and a menu. And this was because we requested it. We ordered food and drinks and waited another 20 minutes for a simple bottle of ouzo (again, we had to ask for it). 50 minutes after, we ask if they could bring at least the appetizers and bread (bread that we requested in the order), answer was “ok but we don’t have bread”. One hour after finally our food starts to come but we were upset enough to not eat it all. They said that we have to understand it was a busy day (they have 7 tables! And it wasn’t full), but can you at least bring water in less than 20 minutes? It doesn’t take much effort. I couldn’t believe we had to wait so long but it became obvious that this place prioritizes delivery services. Nothing bad with that but they have to make a decision. Either delivery or dining in because it’s obvious they can’t do both. At the end we were still hungry (and hangry) and ended up eating right across in a souvlaki place.

By the way: they didn’t even ask for vaccination or pcr tests.

Very cute looking place but...

Overrated in my opinion: fish soup: not available. Tuna salad with orange: Neither salt nor proper vinegar and oil added. Salmon: not available. Nigiri sushi: 2mm tuna slice on rice. tuna burger: same: top and bottom (bun) rice, 2mm tuna and avocado in between. Much too much rice for the portion of fish. Grilled sea bass of excellent quality. A bit too long on the grill - but still delicious. No sides even though advertised differently... white wine of very good qualty. service kinda ok... but pretty hectic and seemed unorganised. Service told us they have re-opened yesterday after the holiday break so they are not yet ready. But for the prices they ask i'd expect more. Give them a chance by ordering starters and then decide for...

Never ever have I wondered more where all the customers were 🤔

Especially as the evening went on as the food was absolutely amazing, the service was outstanding.

And I rarely take food home, but after the amuse bouche, I ate the kids ones, the bread and the soup, I was pretty much full!

If anything our host could have kept us there for an hour longer if he had spread out the meal a bit more, but since my boy who struggles to eat anything proper, was killing those potatoes with skin and all! I am happy as Larry that that including wine and coffee for 80 euros 😉

This could be the best kept secret if you want fish near the centre...
