Foyer Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Athens

Foyer is one of the undervalued places in the Athens centre. The coffee is definitely up to par, and the service is kind though it is the self-service kind of service, unless you sit right next to the counter.

Though you'll have to carry your favourite caffeinated beverage to the second floor on your own, it's worth the few steps there are in case you'd like to sit down to do some reading. I tried a bunch of specialty coffee shops while visiting Athens and this was my favorite one. My piccolo coffee had excellent flavor and perfect milk texture and was properly served on a saucer, with a spoon to stir the coffee. The cafe was clean and comfortable, the prices were fair and the owner was a really nice guy who seemed very passionate about coffee. Just an absurdly great craft coffee place. They bake amazing pastries on the premises too but the coffee is the real star of the show. If you like interesting light bright fruity coffee this is definitely the place to go. A surprisingly wide choice of options from great roasters across Europe, including the good folks at Dak.
