Queen Bee Athens — Restaurant in Athens

Just this morning (29 August), I went with my partner to buy breakfast for takeaway. I flagged that I have a very severe fish and seafood allergy. We ordered a yoghurt bowl, an egg & bacon sandwich, a croissant pistachio and a croissant praline. When we picked up the order, I asked again to confirm that everything was fish-free, and they confirmed. As we were already leaving the premises, I had a hunch and headed back to ask about whether the croissant pistachio or the croissant praline had fish gelatin. After checking, they confirmed with shame that the croissant pistachio had indeed fish gelatin, apologized and gave us another croissant praline and a cinnamon bun.

I don't find this acceptable, allergies are a matter of the utmost importance, and their negligence could have killed me if I hadn't asked especifically for the fish gelatin. It's specially not acceptable considering that they have an international clientele and that considering the prices that they charge, you would expect better from them and more diligence. Good food, nice presentation, high price - as expected right at the middle of Kolonaki. The club sandwich is massive and the fries need an award for their crunchiness. That said the taste was just shy of the taste that'd justify the price point for this dish. Same for the avocado spread, great dish but the spread was missing the heat of some seasoning. The croissant was stuffed with pistachio praline, eating feels like a forbidden pleasure, a must have. Place was busy at 10.00 in the morning of a Friday and people were sat outside despite the cold. My family and I had brunch here today and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff was unbelievably friendly and attentive and the food was excellent! My son had the egg sandwich which was on brioche bread and had caramelized onion & aged cheddar. He said it was the best breakfast sandwich he had every had! My egg white omelet was so tasty and the small salad included with it was a perfect compliment to the flavors of the delicious eggs and salmon. My son's friend absolutely love the french toast as well. We couldn't leave without taking some of the amazing looking croissants to go (for breakfast tomorrow!).
