I loved this hotel. There are features in this hotel I've either never seen before in other hotels or are treats available at only few hotels. The snacks they offer nearly all day are really useful in a pinch when you're trying to wait until dinner to eat - organic crisps, fruit, water, cokes (diet and sugar), fresh cakes - everything is selected with care. The rooms are extremely comfortable - several pillows on the bed and the linens are cushy and comfy. The tv is made to be very easy to watch from the bed with several channels, although for Americans you'll have to choose from BBC, CNN or Al Jazeera - no entertainment television. Electronics shades and shutters on the windows allow for just the amount of sunlight and privacy you desire. There's a tablet for streaming that I didn't find very useful because it didn't have the basic US streaming channels for adults but it's a nice offering. Nice bath products and a nice sized shower. The bathroom is quite large for that region. They even have a scale so you can track your weight while you're enjoying the amazing food available and the beautiful indoor/outdoor cafes and restaurants in the area. Kolonaki is just the most beautiful neighborhood in Athens - lovely to just walk around and actually quite nice shopping. Delis and places to buy fruit or cakes if you'd like, and just a half block from one of the best breakfast cafes in Athens: Queen Bee. I loved this hotel and am going to tell all of my friends to stay there. p.s. Anastasia goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and attended to. She was wonderful!

This hotel is NOT a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. It’s a joke. It should NOT belong to Bonvoy. Worst hotel I ever stayed. The rooms are like boxes with almost no windows - there is a small window that goes to courtyard which is full of pipes so all you see is pipes. Also, it doesn’t close with curtains so if you want to sleep in beyond sunrise - forget it. The bathroom door is transparent so you see all of the light through it since there are no blinds in a bathroom. Complete inadequate set up for a hotel which purpose is supposed to be a sleep. Also they have no real breakfast - no scrambled eggs and no omelettes. Finally does not matter whether you have Bonvoy status you do not get upgraded nor do you get a late check out even if you are Gold or Platinum. Stay away. Oh and forgot to say no hygiene. They put dirty cards on top of beds. Cleaners just walk in into the room without announcement. Finally, when I complained to the hotel in writing to get full or partial refund for sleepless night - I stayed only one night and slept maximum an hour due to light and housekeeping disturbance, I was on a way out grabbing my taxi when manager finally arrived, I had to go but sent an email complaining in detail. That same manager responded refusing to provide any for of compensation or refund or any solution and just said we’ll try us one more time… scandalous

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 We stayed at the Periscope Hotel in Athens, part of the Marriott Design Hotels Collection, and it was absolutely unforgettable. We booked the Penthouse Suite, and if you can, do the same — it’s one of the most breathtaking rooms in the city. The suite itself is beautiful — modern, comfortable, quiet, and full of natural light. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the shower is huge, and the details are just right. But the real magic happens when you step upstairs to your private rooftop terrace. The view from the jacuzzi is insane — a full panoramic view of Athens and the Acropolis, right there in front of you. Day or night, it’s spectacular. A huge thank you to Diana at the front desk, who made our short stay so memorable. She was gracious, kind, and helped us with dinner reservations, taxis, and anything we needed. The service overall was outstanding — warm, personal, and professional. We only stayed one night, but it was truly special. There’s a small 24-hour buffet lounge with snacks, coffee, and drinks available anytime, which made everything even easier. Every corner of this hotel feels thoughtfully run and cared for. If you’re visiting Athens and want something extraordinary, book the Penthouse at Periscope Hotel. You’ll have your own private jacuzzi overlooking the Acropolis — a view you’ll never forget.

Sub-standard “standard” room. Have stayed at this hotel in the past due to its location in Kolonaki but everything has gone downhill since. Upon arrival zero recognition for AMEX platinum status or Marriot Bonvoy gold and an inhospitable welcome. The hotel is comprised of 5 rooms per floor, 4 of which face the street and have large windows. These are called premium rooms. There is 1 standard room per floor which ends in -05 and it is ersatz to the rest. It’s in a back corner of the building that has no direct light. It’s in a very narrow light well staring directly into other buildings walls, pipes, and mechanical systems. The bed faces the door and the hallway and a crawl space accessed via a ventilation panel into the common corridor. The entire room was always dark at any time of day. There were black out shades but not any in the bathroom so the small crevasse of light that came through the bathroom also came into the room since the bathroom didn’t have black out. There was a lot of light seepage from the hallway and air vent above the door into the room as bright as the downlight in the hallway. The sound in the hotel is loud and constant. Not from the street, but from other guests dragging chairs across the floor, closing the bathroom door, and flushing the toilet — you can hear everything. Byredo products in bathroom were empty upon arrival and never refilled for 2 night stay. I would not recommend this room to anyone. I would be very careful to check what room you are getting. I would double check to see if the hotel is full if you’re expecting any sort of upgrade or room swap. There aren’t really any perks or positive things to say...
