To Kouki — Restaurant in Athens

It’s never easy to choose a restaurant to have dinner in a city that consists mainly of eateries, bars, esplanades and rooftop terraces! Athens, a city drowned in cultural history but arising again as one of Europe’s hottest places to be. The street art filled facade’s give away the artistic outlet valve of the younger generation Athenians. The city is clean and bustling! But to choose between the 2000 + restaurants is almost impossible. Until someone comes along and gives you some tips. Lucky us, and therefore lucky you! To Kouki, a small and trendy place owned by two young passionate food lovers that use the traditional Greek food but create a fusion with other cultures without losing the original taste and feel. Roasted eggplant, smoked lamb from Crete, fried Greek cheese and Asian style shrimps with a twist of Greek bacon from the north! Every dish a gem of it’s own. Great place to hang out listen to music and share plates of food! We had small bites; chicken strips, crispy shrimp, tortilla chips w guacamole, and pulled pork mini burgers. They were all delicious!! We also shared some wine and enjoyed a Coca Cola and some ouzo. The staff working here are very nice as well! Unfortunately, we also ordered the tiramisu and it was not good. Very sad. The lady fingers were not soaked, just hard biscuits, and there was no Mascarpone it was more like a yogurt topping. Definitely a 4 1/2 star review, due to the dessert, but I can’t make a 4 1/2 here. Still highly recommend a stop here, as everything...

To kouki : I stumbled upon this little gem during my short stay in Athens 🇬🇷 and wow what a find! The gyros was so good that I came back the very next day (and I was only in Athens for two days!). I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever enjoy another gyros the same way again, every future one will be compared to this absolute gift from heaven. On top of that, the service was just incredible.
