BONZAI Asian Restaurant — Restaurant in Ioannina Municipality

A place that is supposed to be super fine turned out to be mediocre. It is usually rather difficult to serve multiple cuisines and excel in all of them. Bonzai fails in this attempt. Service first: when you promise to move a table to a better location, one must keep this promise. We noticed numerous new parties being seated, while we were kept at the 'temporary' table we were offered when we entered. Needless to say, we were not moved as promised. In addition, we had 2 waiters – a waiter that could not speak English (an apprentice perhaps) that had to call his colleague every time we asked for something. She, in return, was impatient whenever she arrived at our table. Food-wise: beef dishes such as the beef with vegetables bao ban or beef vegetables noodles – the beef was chewy, and was served in large chunks, rather than small pieces that can be eaten in small bites. A few months ago, we were driving home and suddenly had a craving for sushi. On the way, we made a special stop in Ioannina just to order from this sushi bar, drawn in by its stylish and inviting appearance. From the outside, the place looks beautiful, and the interior is just as impressive. However, we didn’t dine in we ordered takeaway. Sadly, the sushi was extremely disappointing. The rice was completely flavorless and fell apart immediately. Everything was packed in cardboard boxes, and by the time we got home, the rice had stuck to the packaging and the rolls had disintegrated into a mess. I ordered food and after 40 minutes I called them and they told me that the order we leave after 15 minutes. So I waited another 30 minutes and I called them again and they told me that just now they started to cook/prepare the order. This is the second that time that did that, so I ordered from somewhere else after waiting for 1 hour and a half. So if you want to eat from bonzai, you need to order 3 hours earlier. They are lying and they didn't have the dignity to offer the food for 3 hours delay.
