Thoroughly unimpressed with this restaurant. Owner and serving staff completely disinterested, and the food was bland and uninspired.

Disclaimer: we are two vegetarians, so this is not a comment on their choice of meat or fish. However, they bill themselves as 'vegetarian-friendly', which is why I'm so critical. Though our dishes were vegetarian and vegan, the veggies were cooked to snot, and my dish was so salty that I couldn't distinguish any other flavour. Furthermore, the menu doesn't specify which dishes are vegetarian/vegan, and since no staff came up to our table to ask for our orders, we had to use Google translate to figure out what each dish was, and whether it was veg-friendly or not.

Vegans and vegetarians: I know our options are limited on this island, but stay away...

We came on a saturday evening and the restaurant was full. We did not want to wait. So we wanted to make a reservation for the next day. They said we do not make reservation, come a little earlier no problem. We said ok. We arrived around 19:30 there were tables available we sat, but interestingly 2 of the tables were reserved. It is better for them to decide if they reserve or not. We ordered house white wine, very delicious. Greek salad and tzatziki was also good. The garlic and aubergine were not good. Especially aubergine was not tasting fresh like the order dishes. We did not go for the main course as we were full. But the meat display inside...

This restaurant is nothing much on the outside but once you've tasted the food... The service is very lovely and the food is all traditional and greek. The fish roe salad is amazing with their homemade bread and the greek salad has incredible tomatoes! Of course, the most renowned item on the menu is the fish, the tuna ,cod, squid, you name it! All of the fish is super fresh and they even bring you inside to show you all of the food! The tuna steak and souvlaki is to die for, it completely melts in your mouth.

It's a shame I have no pictures of the food to include but I completely forgot because the food was...

The most beautiful food we ate in Lefkada - fresh, and some unique takes on traditional Greek food. Restaurant was busy, so we were lucky to get a table at 9pm. Tuna souvlaki was divine - we recommend getting it medium rare, medium was a bit too chewy. Octopus was lovely too. Unlike other diners we weren’t offered the opportunity to pick our fish. Don’t do what we did and order the xorta as seafood dishes come with this plus chips. I would recommend going early or booking a reservation as the fresh fish can run out. Would definitely be back.
