I Kato Vrisi — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

Everything was great until we had to pay, at which point it turned into a nightmare.

When we arrived in front of the restaurant, what seemed to be the owner came and explained what kind of food they had etc. He was super friendly and we decided to try eating there. Overall food was good and we were happy. When it came to payment though, I showed up at the counter and pulled my card out to pay. The face of the owner changed instantly from friendly to hostile and here's how the discussion went: Do you have cash ? No sorry I only have card You don't pay in cash in your country ? No, card is accepted everywhere and I only use card sorry It's not possible, you must be using cash ... No, I mean look at flat and small my wallet is. I only have card That's not how things should be done, how should I pay my staff without cash ?! ... (blank, no idea what to say to that ? Not my problem and let people know ahead of time if you only accept cash ?) Here, pay by card

At which point he hands me over a payment terminal with... 🥁 331.50 € instead of 33.15 €.

I proceed to pay and he looks the other way, not saying thanks nor goodbye.

Did he try to scam me on purpose or was it a genuine mistake ? Who knows. But it had to be a "mistake" at his advantage while he was mad at me.

What a nightmare. If you don't accept card (while you have a terminal for card payements ?!), write it on your sign outside or let people know beforehand ?

So beware, if you don't have cash, explicitely ask before you sit or...

The owner was very rude, we were a group having dinner, we hadn't ordered deserts when the owner pointed at us and said to a waiter in bad manners "this table hasn't even leave..." then he said very rudely" you have to leave, I have lost the opportunity to seat 3 more groups here...", after that we ordered the bill and he said to the waiters " they are finally leaving". He was compleying all the time, we we EATING, you can't kik off clients just because you want to have More and more. And by the way, you didnt lost any opportunity so seat groups because in the time we were eating there was no way to fit anyone more. Bad way to trat costumers that were happy. Waiter was friendly and speaks english and german fluently! Location in the small alley is nice since we value privacy and the vibe was decent! We ordered lamb chops and pasta with prawns. I am still searching for some meat on my lamb chops in photos since i didnt know if i was supposed to eat bones or what?? At least local cat was happy with leftovers!! Pasta was nice but there was one spice in them that made them taste very weird..cooked nice tho!
