We had a great experience here and would definitely recommend. We were welcomed warmly by a younger waitress who even thanked us for coming to the restaurant - a nice touch. After asking for the fish of the day, the older female host convinced me to order it, a red snapper fish which I had never tried before, and I wasn’t disappointed. The fish was divine, beautifully cooked and seasoned with generous helpings of sides. My boyfriend ordered a traditional Greek beef stew - also gorgeously cooked with ‘melt in your mouth’ braised pieces (although he had to wait for me to finish given the enormity of my fish!). Regarding service, the food took a little time to come but we were warned it may take longer given it was so busy, which made it completely fine. The nicest touch was the older host (we assumed the husband of the older female host who make a great couple!) helping me cut the snapper to get the most meat from it. Overall, would definitely recommend and the best meal so...
Read moreNissi - a hidden gem in the heart of Lefkada! Tucked away in the plateia, Nissi completely blew us away. The food is everything you’d hope for from a Greek restaurant - traditional at its core, but with a creative, modern twist that’s done so tastefully. Every dish was vibrant and full of flavor.
What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was the owner- she was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she’s created. You could feel the warmth and care the moment you walked in, and it stayed with you through the whole meal.
The service overall was top-tier: kind, attentive, and so genuine. Not a single detail was missed. You don’t just eat at Nissi - you’re looked after.
This is the kind of place Greece needs more of: where tradition isn’t just preserved, it’s celebrated and reimagined in a way that feels fresh, yet still familiar.
If you’re in Lefkada, go to Nissi. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning...
Read moreI can't rate the food since we didn't get to taste it (might be good, I noticed it has some good reviews). We have waited a lot for someone to come and take our order. There was only one woman who took orders (probably the owner) and she kept tending only to the big tables while waiters (who just served, they did not take orders) kept asking us if we ordered and we kept saying no but the lady would still not come. After a while we got up to leave and instead of apologising for the delay, the lady told us that "good things take time". While I understand her prioritizing the bigger tables that would bring more money, I do not understand why there was only one person taking orders at such a busy moment in the day and why you would not at least say sorry for wasting...
