Run down hotel more in line with a hostel. Check in staff was welcoming but that was about where us ended.
Our room key opened our room and another room when we misread the room number so I felt insecure in regards to safety.
Room was old, dated & much less glamorous than photos posted. They cleaned the room but it was very superficial, there were visible carpet stains and smudges on the wall… looked like someone killed some bugs. Bed was clean, we even checked under the sheets so that was the only reason I stayed the night.
Bed and pillow were not comfy, mattress springs were very saggy, pillow was cheap.
We chose to cut our stay down from two nights to one. We would have even left the first day day had there been a ferry available to our next destination. We left 6am the following morning.
We requested a refund for the 2nd night but we’re not successful. They did offer to check for another room but we were not interested after seeing such a stark difference between listing and real time.
The hotel entrance is in a pedestrian square so if you have many bags, small children or have issues with walking I would not recommend this location. Parking is also an issue in the area. When we arrived we found a spot close enough to carry our bags but later that day after returning from the beach we circled a while. A lot of traffic and we needed to park on the bridge which is a 5min walk to hotel. It’s okay to park overnight but I don’t think you could leave your car during the day. Parking would be an issue for most hotels in her area. The street were not meant for this level of tourism.
Expedia sent us a request to review the hotel check in process and an opportunity to message to management. We left our comments and after doing so the hotel management actually requested we remove our post which was not actually a post but anyways it shows their intent to try and control the narrative. They claimed they actually provided us with a room higher category than the economy room we booked…I can’t imagine the room being worse… and they threatened to send the “law” after us due to us defaming...
Read moreIf you are looking for a hostel, this is the place. If you like a small bed and an old mattress, this is the place. If you like to hold the shower stall when you shower, this is the place. If you like the smell of sewage, this is the place. If you like that you don't have wifi in the room, this is the place. If you like to hear what's going on in the room next to you, this is the place. If you like to hear doors slamming all day because that's how you close the door from outside, friends this is the place! I can really go on, but I think you got the point. I know it's a little tough, but if I can keep someone from thinking about whether or not to go there, make the right decision to make their vacation better, I will. Make no mistake, those who looking for a simple place this is it, but understand that its not a 4 star hotel but an upgraded hostel. The place has potential but unfortunately is not maintained and feels that there is no thought invested for the comfort of guests. The positive review? The staff are lovely, welcoming and helpful in everything. The hotel is located on the harbor in Lefkada Town and close to all restaurants and boardwalk, you ask if it covers the rest? You decide. Anyway for a vacation in a more tranquil atmosphere strongly recommends looking for accommodation in Nidri, a lovely beach town. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but maybe it will wake up those...
Read moreStayed there for 2 nights with my wife, 7 year old and 8 month old. Hotel was well recommended from people who are from Lefkada.
The good
Very well located for central lefkada and the nice restaurants and bars on the waterfront.
Alex the manager was simply outstanding. A friendly face who greets you, looks after your needs and just a very nice guy. Despite the issues below I am still positive about the place because of how nice Alex was.
The breakfast was good
The pool was great and respite from the heat. Very good for little kids with shallow section
It was relatively easy to park close by as long as you follow the Greek parking conventions and don't worry about no parking signs!!
THE BAD
The air con did not work in the first room so they had to move us to another room smaller room at 1am (where it also did not work) then another room where it sort of worked. I had to sleep on the floor the first night as they were full. The air con was not much better in the second room either. We moved back to our original room and the air con was so so. Air con in a small room in the middle of summer in Greece with 4 people is a big deal so they really really need to sort this out.
I was surprised that it was noted by one of the reviewers below as 5 *. It is not that level but looking at the price you would not expect 5 *. It is well located, with a good pool and basic rooms in a...
